ode 1,530
So far, it sounds more like she's revisiting some of the disco/Nile Rogers stuff she was doing before she got into cowboys and Oscars and whatnot.

In my vision, Chromatica is what ARTPOP would be if she makes that record now, almost 10 years later, and also reworking some of the concepts that she didn't have time to develop. That's what I'm trying to say. People are acting like Gaga said "oh well, ARTPOP was not what I expected, let me create the follow up". The construction of Chromatica hints some ideas that weren't expressed in a refined way during the ARTPOP era whether because of her young age or state of mind during that time. Judas is coming, let the cultural baptism begin.
Gagadonna 10,801
Not everybody thinking the OP meant that in the most literal sense... I do believe that Chromatica, in some way, is Gaga's revenge on and for ARTPOP.
Anderson123 38,406
I think it is the closest to ARTPOP based on what we've heard these past interviews. Very personal lyrics about past trauma covered in dance music.
oko 436
omg some of ya are really stuck in the past. Gosh, move on. ARTPOP was good but she never gonna release an Act II or whatever. Chromatica is a whole new project, with new sounds and new vision.

I do believe that Chromatica, in some way, is Gaga's revenge on and for ARTPOP. I agree with this. I feel the core messaging of "Bringing worlds together with love" (ie, POP with ART, Reality with Fantasy....) can be seen here in Chromatica but just delivered in different way. Sonically, however, I feel like all the signals are telling us Chromatica is consistently more dance and house-influenced, whereas in ARTPOP, she was known to trip from between genre-to-genre more..... Lets see when the album comes. I get the feeling that Babylon may be similar to an experience the fans would have gotten from "Tea" though!!
HeavyPunkLover 2,120
Again, I miss so much the Excuse Me No reaction these days "Just because you know my name, doesn't mean you know my game"
ToxicHot 6,444
No. Because she’s grown a lot since then, emotionally, mentally, and artistically. I think the album will absolutely have imagery, moments, and perhaps a few sounds that resemble ARTPOP, but that chapter is pretty much closed. I think one of the biggest similarities the albums will have will be that she really channeled her pain/frustration/experiences into the overall creative process (although I suppose you could say all if not most of her albums are made this way). But the concept will be more focused on defining and healing herself rather than trying to bridge the gap between art and commercialism. Did that make sense? Lol. I think I made a good point, but perhaps it could be expanded a bit more. dOnT sAd ReAcT mE 2 bE sHaDy i WiLL RePoRt U!!1!

ARTGOD 3,266
I think sonically and thematically (so far) it’s more similar to ARTPOP than any of her other albums, but this time it’s more intentional and with a fresh perspective.
