Fanta 5,019
As I have said before the promo pictures and the cover were visually appealing, and the song was a cute bop. However, compared to Rain on Me SL feels like a promo single. I kinda went in on the video when it came out because I didn’t like it and it felt extremely underwhelming for a lead single. Now I’m wondering if Gaga’s team has something else in mind. I’m willing to bet SL is the least ‘good’ song on the album. I also think instead of Gaga going full BANG right at the start of the era she’s slowly building up hype up until the release of the album. All eyes are on her now, the way SL failed to do, and will continue to be on her when Chromatica is officially released. Now I’m wondering if the rumours about other videos being filmed are true, and if they’re also high-budget and expensive looking like the RoM video. I was very impressed and enjoyed everything she delivered, so I hope we get some more sickening visuals to keep the momentum going. I’m happy RoM is doing great numbers wise, but I want Gaga to mirror or at least get numbers close to what this will achieve on her own as well. She deserves it! Twitter 14
No Stupid Love slander on this site please. Only reason why SL got that treatment is because Rona’s debut single Social Distancing was a bigger bop. SL is a banger and will be treated like how fans treat PI and The Queen. Dramatica 13,690
In Chromatica no one song is greater than another I'm happy Stupid Love got to be the lead, I had just broken up in Feb and I needed something to cheer me up, and that was it. Had it been just a promo single I don't think it would have gotten the same recognition. Plus there was practically no promo for the song and it went big, literally for a leaked song. It was like: Tuesday: a billboard announcing the song and the era. Friday: the song release. No performance no promo whatsoever I didn't ask for a free ride, I only asked you to show me a real good time.
Divine 1,879
If the virus didn't happen, SL would do better. (I mean the planned appearances and performances) "And I still love you even if I can't see you anymore."

Sickness 1,978
And thank god for that. Imagine a world where ROM is worse than SL and SL would be the peak of the era... career over me thinks.

2School4Cool 6,449
I actually love Stupid Love as a lead single personally. The era begins with the lyric “you’re the one that I’ve been waiting for” which is not only symbolic for fans waiting for the album, but for Gaga with her struggles saying that this is finally the healing experience she’s been waiting for for so long. It did what a lead single should do: it introduced the world of Chromatica and let us know that we’re getting a dance-pop album, but it didn’t give away too much either, it was just enough to say “I’m back everyone!” while giving us a super fun, super catchy song to dance to. Now Rain On Me is serving as a perfect second single by taking the hype to the next level and getting everyone stoked right before the album comes out! gfarabello 599
Stupid Love also brings so much joy. It literally defined my mornings on my way to work until quarantine. It probably wasn't the lead single but they released it because it leaked. She already mentioned it, and I think it was a smart choice. Imo the song is good but would never reach #5 on Hot 100 if it wasn't the lead.
ElectricAlley 1,737
SL did extremely well, and was able to peak in the Top 5 of the hot 100 without Gaga really lifting a finger. Apple most likely paid for the music video, which meant interscope could save their coins for other visuals in the future. SL capitalized off of the hype around Gaga, and charted almost effortlessly. Having ROM as the second single reinvigorated hype for the era and album, and SL probably would have gotten a bigger boost from ROM if the album hadn’t got delayed. We’re most likely getting two top 5’s this era, and if ROM keeps doing super well, it’ll set us up for a cute 3rd single (and when is the last time we could say THAT.) Well, I won't be interested in singles after album release. Who cares about one or two, or three songs when there's full album with Chromalude?
