Plot of Rain On Me?

Is there a plot to Rain On Me? I find it as Gaga, the Kindness Punks meeting with Ariana, the Purple Tribe? (What's their name )

Edit: In the first part of the video Gaga is there when the daggers first fall so she gets hurt, but then when she gets up to dance the daggers fall on nothing because she left. So it's a sign of growth?

The plot is just Dance - have fun 

 

but the video taught me Gaga is the god of chromatica - it rains daggers so might want to buy that $120 umbrella  and Ariana is part of the purple or grey ish tribe (if she even has the tribe theme anymore) and Ariana is a healer  government hooker.

Although this is just speculation on my part, I think the use of purples and the daggers falling like rain may also be a metaphor for Gaga’s fibromyalgia pain.

The symbol for fibromyalgia is a purple butterfly ☂️🦋 Notice how Ariana has butterfly wings in the video..

Fibromyalgia is chronic, every day pain in your whole body and also affects your brain 🧠 So kinda does feel at times like someone just throws daggers at you and all you can do is keep living and dealing with it

I kinda thought of fibromyalgia with the Stupid Love video and her outfit with the mask.

Also how random yet cool is the fact that in both SL and ROM Gear such as oxygen masks and head protection masks are seen pre-Covid19 when the art direction and music videos where shot!

There is not a plot to the video, merely symbolism. The song simply.conveys the "story" and the video enforces the emotion that the song itself gives off.

Symbolism-wise:

The rain represents pain and therefore is portrayed as piercing daggers. It represents how her previous painful experiences rendered her encumbered. 

Then Gaga with stabbed leg and Ariana with butterfly/bee wings. Some speculate that it maybe parallel world and both of them were suffering - Gaga with her leg pierced with dagger represents pain or physical injury that hindered her from performing and Ariana with the wings which is somehow connected to Manchester incident.

Story-wise:

We know from stupid love that she's some sort of a warden of peace. She keeps everything in check and prevents turmoil from happening. Then going to ROM, I just guessed that the gigantic Gaga crying over them as they dance maybe is the manifestation of the world Chromatica (like Gaia is to Earth). And the rainfall is her tears and the tears became daggers because it represents pain and sufferings. 

Somehow she fell down from her high position and was left injured under the rain (insert some evil plot here). She met Ariana (from purple tribe) who's also traumatized by painful experiences and together they danced their way out of the pain. Or if we elaborate, they helped each other get through their predicaments and washed away the pain by finding haven in a storm (I'm bad at these ). 

Then the switch came which represents that they already recuperated. And here we see both them dry and looks different. So at this point Gaga was able to help the purple tribe. 

After that we see them reaching out to the gigantic Gaga which seems like they want to help her coz she's somehow suffering or caged inside a laboratory. So maybe we can expect Gaga the warden of peace to journey across the world (while its under chaos) and help the tribes get back to their feet. And I feel like each tribe will represent different types of suffering - like in purple tribe it's trauma and is connected to Ariana's experiences. 

 

It's really hard to weave the story together at this point since we barely see anything and the ROM vid is mostly a dance choreo vid so they only hinted some clues here and there regarding their story concept about Chromatica. But I'm sure once the album is released and we hear the songs or maybe some more visuals then things will come into place.
