I've heard them before. But I'm not criticizing the song, it's good. It can be generic and still sound good like The Cure. But after hearing this song I'm getting to expect what the sound of the album would be like and I'm not that impressed. So I’m much happier to hear something like this that, while not a game changer by any means, is really good and solid, fun pop. Tbh I put more of the attribution of this to Gaga and Ariana, though. The production itself is dec but it’s their harmonies and vocals that elevate the song (Gaga’s rougher tone, Ariana’s lighter one together is great). Not every song have to be unique to be a great song. The point is that the song has to be enjoyable for most people to be able to sell. Remember, this is a money making industry. I really love this song, on first impressions. It's not high-drama traditional "Gaga" pop, but it's still so good. And still dramatic in its own way. But I don't see it as one of her best songs. It's just a standard pop song to me. But if she feels she has to make something safe to get approval again and get a massive hit, then that's just business. I just heard better from her.
