I hear more Ariana than Gaga though on the first listen, is that correct? + It could have easily been half a minute longer, didn't want it to end. brucee 1,690 Posted May 22, 2020 Share Posted May 22, 2020 this song is a total grower. This whole new sound is very on point. The love for the bass lines, the modern tweaks on house sound. I'm even more excited for the album because I know that the first singles always have the more mainstream qualities. But then we also have the opening song, who's always like... and the underdogs those weird Gaga things... Always. Considering the consistency of her sound. I'm just so proud of her, and as always impressed by her versatility. Also cheers to Ariana, her fresh airy voice matches perfectly with Gaga's. They are just two different spices. The only thing wrong with it is that it's way too short! I feel we've gotten so used to her being almost 'alt pop' now or at least releasing things are HAC pop that when she releases a pure europhic dance floor song it feels a bit alien. Do I think she's capable of better? Of course, there's plenty of album tracks that are more exciting than singles so surely the same will apply here. This is a great single choice, I've not heard anything just like this come from a mainstream pop girl in a while and now it's came from two at once. The dance break after the first / second ‘Rain On Me’s’ is cute / groovy & I’m not mad at it but the song would’ve been elevated / superior had that fabulous, perfect, uplifting final chorus been featured 3 times in it.
