Gaga got a solo #5 hit 2 months ago, didn't she? And it did over 5M daily streams on debut day, didn't it? Not sure how you could claim that Rain On Me's success will be "mostly because of Ariana" then. It's half and half.

All reactors and comments on YouTube show hype about Lady Gaga as well as Ariana.

I’m not discounting Gaga’s accomplishments. I love Gaga and I think it was an extremely smart move to have Ariana on a song. But certainly more people are going to listen to the song because of Ariana. I don’t think that’s a problem, Gaga is obviously a megastar in her own right. I just wish monsters would see that a lot of what they’ve said about Savage can also be said about Rain On Me. I think stan culture would be kinder if they could do that.

the diffrence is Rain on me was released with Ariana from the start, she didn't jump on a solo track for it to become a hit. Also as seen with Ariana other collabs, not even half of them becomes hits, it's the combined power of gaga and ariana that makes ROM big.

I would personally disagree about Savage and ROM being similar in that regard for a number of reasons but I can understand why you'd think that.

Also, stan culture could be kinder and maybe monsters should just be the bigger people but the BeyHive won't stop just because monsters decide to be kind. They'll do the same stuff and monsters are people too and on provocation, they'll turn into actual monsters. And vice versa. There are definitely times when monsters provoke others. It is what it is.
