It's OK, I guess. It's on;y works for people who have friends. And I believe majority of twattir users are commenting on popular tweets cos they don't really have anybody to talk in their timeline. :billie:

Currently, I am just enjoying this scheduled tweet feature. Hope they will make it public. It is useful.

I mean just use the DMs if you really wanna talk to a number of people only :neyde:

I can't wait for d*ckheads to start spewing problematic tweets and only allow their fellow d*ckheads to reply to them.

Soft, soothing, and succulent

Instead of tweeting and having other users comment and share opinions. Twitter is now allowing users to have thread conversations with only the people they want to directly talk to. Thoughts? :)

Do you always refer to yourself in the 3rd person? :billie:

When discussing my business, yes. :billie:

I think it's an amazing idea. I love interacting with people (positively, for the most part), but it prevents trolls and other annoying, obnoxious users from replying to my tweets - particularly, strangers. I'd love limiting my tweet's replies to only my mutuals. :) It's a wonderful tool for limiting negativity.

If only GGD would add this feature. Am I right? :ally:

Not sure how I feel about this. I guess it will help with harassment and bots, but it's probably also going to have a negative impact on discourse now that people won't be able to challenge misinformation.

it's kind of like... group messaging, why not just text your friends lol

Because it's public. People are watching it but you can't comment.

For everyone confused about the reason behind this or why you wouldn't just DM the people you want to talk to:

This is not like Close Friends or like texting because everyone can see your tweets. There was an article about this feature months ago and the primary thing it brings to the table is sort of like a panel. It's like a Twitter-based version of a round table, like how you can watch Hollywood Reporter celebrity round tables on YouTube but obviously you can't put yourself in the video and be a part of the conversation.

I don't think the tool will be useful for most people on Twitter, but for celebrities or professionals in a specific field, this is a neat way to have sort of a live chat convo for their fans. Imagine the cast of your favorite TV show having a Twitter chat with each other about an episode as it's airing, where they are having a real conversation about making the episode together instead of just random thoughts they tweet alone during the episode. It even works for Twitter-based Q&As, like if a mental health blog wanted to organize a Q&A where multiple therapists / psychologists provide their own take on questions submitted to the mental health blog. I can even imagine Twitter versions of political debates between people like Ben Shapiro and Hasan Piker. You can still "at" them but it won't clog up the Twitter thread.

Essentially, this format makes the rest of us viewers to a more intimate / streamlined conversation between people we might be interested in.
