I’m just saying why keep saying “I hate celebrity!!!” when I think it would be so much more interesting and real to her about this push and pull, back and forth struggle she has with it, ya know? People roll their eyes when celebs say stuff like this but if she instead came out trying to tackle the complexities of this ish to her I think it would be so much easier to empathize. i say this especially since it’s not like she does THAT much to run from her celebrity status especially in recent years so clearly a part of her likes it. It sounds really complicated and I’d rather her that story than her wholly deny any affection or affinity for it and pretend like it isn’t her...when it is to a degree. You can be an artist AND celebrity, the two can coexist (belong together) ARTPOP lmao Haha I edited my comment because I forgot to say that I agree - she should talk about it. I understand that she wants people to focus on her art and not her celebrity, but her celebrity is at the core of her art and it's what sustains her career. Pop culture was in art now art's in pop culture in me lolol
Joshua81 257
This interview is really great. There are some unanswered points that Zane immediately caught and asked Gaga as a next question. Especially the smoking part. One question I expected him to asked, but he didn't, is if Gaga needs to be depressed, smoke a pipe, etc., to be able to produce an authetic album that reflects her current self. One think I admire about Gaga since the Joanne era, was that she became more honest since then. I think it's slightly because of Elton, as she said Elton tends to challenge her views. She even admitted her purpose of creating Joanne was actually to heal her father, and was gravely let down when that didn't do its job. That goes to show that she's unafraid to admit personal mistakes, even if in that moment it might seem so honest and true. Gaga is really growing and maturing with time, both as an artist and a person. I think it will be another decade, or two, till we are able to really understand what is going on in her head, her feelings of both past and present, and how that emotion affects her as an artist. I've been following her since 2009, but I almost don't comment here cause it wasn't necessary, and I feel that Chromatica will be a huge stepping stone in her life. And I'll definitely still be there for her the day she's totally sober, still making mistakes, but incredibly happy and healthy as she doesn't need to rely on cigarettes or other stuff to help her ease the pain. JustinLovesGaga 883
I'm going to re-watch the interview again when released. There was a lot of back and fourth with Gaga's answers and she seemed... off... I hope she's okay.

Your comment is just ignorant I think your ignorance jumped out in your first comment about the mental health of Gaga. What do you want? That she lie to us and tell that she is always happy and that she doesn't deal with depression? Do you know what clinical depression is and understand that depression comes as cycles sometimes in a lot of people? If you want you can go an be a fan of any diva pop star that doesn't shows any emotion to fullfile your own desires and pretensions. It's full of them. You can be an artist AND celebrity, the two can coexist (belong together) ARTPOP lmao As the poster above said, I believe she's trying (again, I am making an assumption) to discuss her complicated relationship with fame instead of being like "I hate being a celebrity." Like she hates certain aspects, and loves other aspects...but Gaga isn't always the most articulate. I will say while I'm not a big fan of the "I struggle with celebrity angle" (although I do recognize it's a valid issue).....I think it's BS that men can discuss it and everyone goes "brooding artist" or "he acknowledges his faults" (Joaquin Phoenix, the Weeknd, Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, Rob Pattinson, and even Chris Evans in a recent interview, etc.) while women (KStew is the first one who came to mind) get dragged as "ungrateful." That said I doubt it will be the headline (which probably would be meh, but quickly forgotten for Gaga)...the headline will probably be her discussing her possible sobriety and issues with depression and will be quickly forgotten since ROM is coming out today.
