Bowie deff doesn’t just have a one hit a non-stan would know wow.... he has many many. And Nile Rodgers as much as I love him too isn’t a particularly essential collaborator to his work.

He brought a lot of basslines and groovy stuff that the mainstream knows to the table... Let's Dance... Everybody know s it's Bowie. But it's a lot of Nile Rodgers. All I say is that the guy is a brilliant musician, and he knows what he does and why he likes G. It's as relevant as a Bowie recognition. The guy is not pressed because he is a humble musician.

They may have heard Modern Love in the movies with the young dancer or Heroes in bank ads.. But don't link it  to Bowie. The GP may also know Space Oddity.. but Let's Dance remains The GP mainstreamest Bowie Stuff.

hello hello baby.

I mean there's obviously gonna be a difference, when Fancy Pants uses the Fame instrumental, and Babylon IMO samples a part of the guitar and it's not even a major part of the song from what we heard in the leak. Afterall we're judging a low quality leak, possibly a demo.

Yeah umm, I'm a huge Bowie fan too actually? I guess I'm reaching, but I still hear that guitar and I won't change my mind :huntyga:

Any Bowie fan would hear that the two guitar riffs are DIFFERENT. Sorry. There is no mistake. Please listen to Fame again, then Babylon, then Fancy Pants. Fancy Pants sampled Fame, Babylon has not. I might upload this to a Bowie fan community on FB see what they say tbh

Sneaky Oliver

I can see why he stated that about Lorde. Because her music was futuristic, kind of how his own music was futuristic at the time they were released, unlike Gaga who had more references from past eras music

Or...it's just one of her guitarists playing a funk guitar and has NOTHING to do with Fame. People were saying the guitar synth lead in FW was sampled from Music Sounds Better With You too :ladyhaha: people need ears

So am ai. I'm just shocked you haven't compared them side by side and heard the different notes that make up the riff 🤣🤣 I could find you a million different songs that have a similar funk riff. Try Prince. I'm sure he has plenty of guitar riffs that Babylon "samples" :ohwell: i'll tag you the page in a bit xo

not necessarily at all.. I don't think people know more than three Bowie songs if they're not fans... Billie Elliot (the name of the movie featuring Modern Love is also co-produced by Nile Rogers btw).

Let's be honest : Heroes, Let's Dance, Space Oddity, Modern Love (for those who start to dig a bit).... Life on Mars... That's all for the GP. Now Gaga fans also know I'm Afraid of Amrcns... that's quite big still though.

It's sad really how many of the legends are (or were) against Gaga. Madonna, Grace Jones, Boy George, David Bowie (supposedly), M.I.A. (she's a legend to me:huntyga:), didn't Prince also make shady comments about her?

And no, before you even think of it, I don't think it has to do with "jealousy".

It must be jealousy. She got praised and got compared to them by a lot of people. I can understand that if you are a so called “legend” you are kind of *meh* when a newcomer get’s a lot of praise and gets compared to you.

I think Gaga will reach their status but will never look down on newcomers etc. As much as I reapect Bowie, Madonna, etc. Gaga is much more mature when it comes to that
