I personally like for songs to have space to grow and breathe, transition. Many of Gaga's songs do this especially on BTW. Majority of Joanne's songs were too short imo. (JW was robbed!) Where I agree with you is that I'm confident Gaga can cram high-quality, timeless work into a 3min song. Just was hoping for longer, experimental songs after such a long wait for dance music. I honestly disagree that even Gaga is capable of the same quality of songwriting within the constraints of a 3 minute maximum compared to her most epic tracks like Edge of Glory and Bad Romance which were nearly 2x as long as the predicted 2:47 of Sour Candy. Gaga’s intros, pre-chorus hooks, and bridges were almost signature components. We’ll never get the buildup of a Bad Romance again, and if you think “I don’t need a reason; not sorry I want your stupid love” compares to the intense, raw climax of BR’s bridge, I don’t know what to say. Bridges are essentially extinct - RIP The Fame - and verses are literally two lines of unique writing on average. Can Gaga create catchy, exciting songs within 3 minutes? Sure. But, I couldnt care less about streams if I need to sacrifice the art of storytelling as found throughout Gaga’s entire earlier discography. For the record, Gaga told a magazine in 2011 that 3:30 was the perfect length for a pop smash and I concur. 4:00 is my preference, but 3:30 for singles mixed with 4:30 deep cuts would be a great combination. Lol Sorry we've all waited so long for a dance pop album from her so I wanted to savor every minute of it and you can imagine short songs will leave me wanting for me I know I just But you know what, Gaga's music has never disappointed me. She puts her heart and soul into everything and it shows. I'm sure we'll be laughing about this come 2 weeks from now

pop ate my heart 2,865
For some of yall complaining about Chromatica tracks being short, remember Nothing On but the Radio, Money Honey, Fashion, John Wayne and some others are all under 3 minutes long and we can all agree they're all BOPS, and some of them even fan favs. So it really doesnt matter how long it is as long as it's good am i-e-i-e-i-e-i-e-i-e-i-p-plastic
OMF 3,442
Song is best kept short and sweet. Video could be longer than the song itself

AJRocketMan 2,684
Only three minutes long? Gee, that's disappointing for a dance song. Back in the '80s and '90s dance songs easily ran over five minutes in length. Example:
