No she didn't, she was stabbed and dropped to the ground and was writhing around.

I assumed everybody was dead by the end, how did she even manage to survive that

She gets stabbed but her "death" was not confirmed.  As was stated before her character lived.  I believe Wes Craven even talked about it.

I completely missed that Wes Craven talked about that, sorry

Well that's promising. I know Scream 4 was supposed to be the start of a new trilogy right? I wonder if that is still the plan.

In regards to your first comment, yes. The original plan was to have Jill survive at the end of 4, and Sidney suffers memory loss, and a new killer pops up years later, and Jill is trying to survive while keeping it a secret that she was the killer in 4. However the Weinstein's didn't want to break the formula of the previous films and said no, hence the ending in the hospital.

In regards to Matthew Lillard, I doubt he will actually return, but originally, the script for Scream 3 had Stu still alive but in prison, orchestrating murders in Woodsboro. Technically, in the original theatrical release of Scream, Stu did not die. Sidney merely smashes him with the vase, and she runs out of the room. It wasn't until DVD releases later on that they added in the cut TV head smash scene.

All he did was stab her twice in the stomach.

Dewey technically survived being stabbed in the back in the first one, and then stabbed multiple times in Scream 2.

What I can say is that we should expect at least one or two of the original trio to be killed off in 5, which is highly needed.

I saw Scream in theaters on opening weekend, and Stu definitely got his head smashed with the TV. :bon:

I apologize I meant the original DVD release. I watched it the other day. She smashes him with the lamp and das it.

I've never seen a home media or theatrical version where Stu didn't die, I'm so confused. lol
