"Sine From Above" Old Elton Project Reworked?

"Soon to join Tedder’s impressive list is a surprising mash of notable artists: Billboard announces that Ryan Tedder is creating an upcoming “dance anthem and as-yet-undetermined project” which will receive vocals from Elton John and tap into a producing partnership with Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell."

So, back in 2014 Elton was working on a song with Ryan Tedder and Axwell and nothing ever surfaced. Now with Chromatica we KNOW Ryan and Axwell have worked on "Sine From Above" - maybe this will be a full blown dance track resurrected from the original song that never came to be! I know quite a bit of fans seem to expect Elton to only do more traditional vocal pop music, but this previous project and other releases are a good indication that a big Gaga + Elton ANTHEM is very possible. Just some fun food for thought as we get closer to the album release.

I don't know what it is about her using old tracks and lots of samples, it's almost like she just wanted to quickly make a dance album for the fans who complain how many years it's been (when I first read the Chromatica poster and it mentioned Joanne and ASIB I read it more along the lines of "don't worry about the incredibly personal projects I poured my heart and soul into, all you want is dance music so this is what you get")...but Chromatica has also taken years to make.

    Samples have always been a huge part of her music and ALL pop music really. Reworking songs is actualy sometimes harder than making something from scratch as well - rather than start in a new direction you have to re-approach it with the view of how can it be updated? After all, a song done in 2014 has to be reworked to sound like a song for 2020. Songs like Telephone, Government Hooker, Bloody Mary, Aura, Donatella, Mary Jane Holland and more all are songs that were essentially reworked from old projects or preexisting productions - doesn't mean they didn't have heart put into them.

    I won't even get into a list of the samples because that is far too long. The disdain I've seen for vocal samples on Chromatica is odd too, house music and dance music as a whole is very dependent on these samples for its sound - using a pack for them and saying its lazy is like saying that if a song uses an already programed drum kit it's lazy. We don't view all the packs and samples used as lazy when it comes to instruments - that is unless it's a vocal sample because it's not HER voice it seems. When you view the vocal samples as just another instrument in the production it really makes a difference - because that is exactly how they are being used in the songs.
