Ok this tread might flop, but I was actually curious to know, since I love fairy tales, Snow White being my fav, and I'm also a little bored atm, so.

Below are my opnions. As for those who don't know but are interested I included the trailers.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

Spoiler

The Disney version, one of the oldest movie adaptions and still the most well known. Beautiful handdrawn animation. The story is shortened but overall still quite accurate to the original fairy tale, allthough (as most adaptions) it was made to be more childfriendly, it still has it's creepy moments. It's a classic. As for Disney movies it's a classic as well, the very first, and it became the blueprint for all disney movies coming after. It has been a very important movie on it's own as well, being the first feature length animated film in history.

Snow White (1987)

Spoiler

I haven't seen this version, but from what it seems to be one a lot of people still remember as well.

Snow White: A Tale of Terror (1997)

Spoiler

This one is darker. It captures more the essence of the Grimm fairy tale, but not like some trashy horror movie would do. There is still witchcraft involved, but overall it's a more realistic take on the story, more in the style of movies like Ever After (1998). For example: just like in Ever After, which is a movie about Cinderella but her name is Danielle, this movie is about Snow White but her name is Lilli. This is one of my favorite adaptions actually. I love the creepy tone. Snow White looks exactly like I imagine her to look like if she was real and Sigourney Weaver is portray of Snow White's stepmother is chillingly believable.

The 10th Kingdom (2000)

Spoiler

This was a one season mini series. It's about Virginia. A girl in her early 20's who happens to travel to the world of fairy tales. Followed by her dad and a charming werewolf, while helping the grandson of Snow White and trying to get back home. Even tho it has a lot of ellement's from the original Grimm fairy tales, it's still a pretty light hearted series. I like this series for what it is, it's quite impresive for the time when they made this.

Snow White: The Fairest of Them All (2001)

Spoiler

I have seen only short clips of this movie. It seems like an interesting take on the story.

Once Upon a Time (2011-2018)

Spoiler

I have been Obsessed with this show for years. It was 7 seasons. Even tho to me the show started to get weaker after season 3, I still really liked it. Now this show is in a way a similar to The 10th Kingdom, because it's about fairy tales, but here it goes more into the Disney versions and beyond, with the story of Snow White being the centre piece. The show really has it's own vibe, and lot's of characters. It's about a young woman named Emma who is draged to a little town in Maine called Storybrooke, where all the famous fairy tale characters were transported to by the Evil Queen, who robed them from their memories and the time stands still. It's hard to capture the shows story in short. So for those who haven't seen it, here is the trailer for the pilot:

Mirror Mirror (2012)

Spoiler

This is mostly a comedy, and It's not for me.

Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)

Spoiler

This one I have a love/hate relationship with. I love the visuals, ans the story is quite interesting. It has one of the best evil queens, the hottest huntsman.....and one of the most boring Snow White's. Though on the other hand it's understandable why she is the way she is in this movie of course. This is not a childrens movie, but aint very dark either. Btw, the prequel/sequel The Huntsman Winters War I haven't seen yet. The first one I saw in theatre at the time.

I know there are even more adaptions, but it would be way too many to include in one post.

Snow White and the Huntsman could've been, had it not been for this Twilight actress who has ruined it...

huntsman probably! I remember watching it with my friends on my 10th Birthday party at the theater, I thought it was so cool. The original is too dated for me now if I'm honest - I hate the way she's portrayed but I guess it's a testament to the times:billie:

Oh yes there are so many bootleg versions/low butget animated versions of fairy tales. I always enjoy watching what their takes are is on the tales. I watched this one a few years ago.

This one was played for us in my kindergarden by a teacher whom I loved so much (she was a living angel) but unfortunatelly she's no longer with us :( I have so much sentiment for this version
