Yes. I hate deluxe versions of albums. It makes the standard version seem like an incomplete work of art. Plus it often comes off as a cheap money grab.

Can't believe you just disregarded Black Jesus, Disco Heaven, Retro Dance Freak, Just Another Day and The Queen. You did them so dirty sis (forget Again Again:huntyga:

I didn't say I don't like the songs, just that I don't like them being on the deluxe versions. They should have just been on the standard version considering that they are some of the best songs on their respective albums:huntyga:

Im divided, i am a collector and i love collecting different versions of Gaga's records. For example, i have the standard editions of BTW and special (remember Gaga didn't like the word deluxe at that point :huntyga: ) i also love collecting special items (like the silver vinyl of CHROMATICA) but i can see how some people view it at pointless because the whole "deluxe" version seems a bit gimmicky and also having different versions for different countries seems a bit pointless to me.

I actually don't really mind but I've noticed that albums nowadays might have fewer tracks because of the non-necessity of deluxe versions? I mean Taylor Swift's Lover and The Weeknd's After Hours are exceptions but most artists, like Dua's Future Nostalgia, have been pretty short. They almost stop at track 12 or 13.

I'm glad Gaga usually gives at least moderately long albums. Between 14 and 15 is good to me, but I'd be happy for 17-18.

If the point is to add a couple tracks, I like when it's done like BTW when they were worked into the tracklist. However if they're just a couple remixes or demo's I prefer them on a separate disc to the main album. Packaging also, I like when it's a digibook and digipak rather than a standard jewel case which makes it worth having the deluxe option.

Those were a nightmare, because as a fan, you want all the songs to have in your collection. And now with streaming, it's better to give those songs to everyone rather than split them around because people are gonna download them anyways.

I'd like if they'd do a bonus song EP where they add all the tracks from different countries to one disc.

That would be cool, but it doesn't work nowadays because they'd have already lost on the streaming points upon release.

They do need to organize Spotify. I feel like the albums section should include only the original version of the albums and then group all b-sides, remixes into a huge EP, for exemple:

Under "albums":

Lady_Gaga_%E2%80%93_The_Fame_album_cover.png

(Original Cover)

The Fame (2008)

1.    "Just Dance" (featuring Colby O'Donis)

2.    "LoveGame"

3.    "Paparazzi"

4.    "Poker Face"

5.    "Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)"

6.    "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich"

7.    "The Fame"
8.    "Money Honey"
9.    "Starstruck" (featuring Space Cowboy and Flo Rida)

10.    "Boys Boys Boys"
11.    "Paper Gangsta"
12.    "Brown Eyes"
13.    "I Like It Rough"
14.    "Summerboy"

Under Extended Play:

340?cb=20100621134451

(A variation of the cover, even if the label have to create a new one)

The Fame - Outtakes and Remixes (2008)

Disco Heaven

Again Again

Retro Dance Freak

This ^^^ I like when they do small variations  or have a different image but the title is in the same place (TFM) for the album artwork.

They’re random imo

I wouldn’t go out of my way to have Stupid Love Vitamin Remix on my Chromatica :awkney:

The same way I didn’t add Angel Down (Worktape) to my library

Albums feel way more cohesive with actual songs only. The bonus stuff always looks out of place.

No major difference them being on a Deluxe album or the album being a double album with them added on tbh. The extra artwork of a Deluxe and bonus songs is a plus. At least we have streaming now 🤷🏼‍♂️🤣

I mean, I guess it doesn’t really bother me because I normally always buy the deluxe version anyway - PRIMARILY through iTunes. If there are additional deluxe tracks that I cannot actually purchase, I will pirate them online or rip them from YouTube or something. Because I’d love to buy them but if they’re unavailable to purchase through conventional means I have to improvise. :huntyga:

There are some artists that for example, will re-release their album with extra/deluxe tracks (Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded as Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded - The Re-Up, or Dua Lipa as Dua Lipa: Complete Edition), and I find it annoying why they/their label couldn’t just put out the new content as an EP. :saladga: Because let me tell you something, there’s a pretty high chance that I will NOT be going to purchase the entire album AGAIN. Only the new songs, which wouldn’t even help album sales anyway just sales for those individual tracks. (OBVIOUSLY, this doesn’t apply towards physical editions since people love collecting those). I love that Gaga did this with The Fame Monster, because it is essentially a deluxe version of The Fame album but still an entirely new body of work (artistically and commerically).

Also, greatest hits albums are literally USELESS in the streaming era. Just create a playlist of the hits..... :neyde: Again, this doesn’t apply towards physical albums but still.... Why would I buy your greatest hits album when I already own ALL your albums? Especially if they’re digital copies.

Well I'm a collector but I also kind of get your point. I mean, I love the feeling of having "a better version" of an album, or even having multiples variations of it. Or at least, I used to love it. Now I just don't know.  I got like mixed feelings cause in on hand, I find kinda boring when an album doesn't have something "extra" into the tracklist, but at the same time that "extra" may blur the intended vision for said album.

It's true, when there's a standard/deluxe version and I got them both, I usually only listen to the "deluxe", because what's the point of hearing the one with less tracks? (Happens with "Loba" by Shakira) which kinda feels like the "standard" edition is inferior.

Also, I own the "standard" edition of Joanne and I think it works the best, I've never cared about the bonus tracks and to me Angel Down is the perfect ending.

I feel like the trend right now is to release these "deluxe" editions with variations on the packing, instead of the tracklist itself. This happens with the box sets that Lana used to release: They include pictures and hardbooks and stuff. It also happened with ASIB Soundtrack, having multiple variations only in packing. So I think that kinda respects the integrity of the album in a way, so it can be heard the same in any plataform (physical, digital or streaming), at the same time it does apply some kind of "value", which collectors can purchase. So it's kind of a win/win?
