Love b-sides, outtakes, box sets of course. Me with my album realizing it's 39 minutes
RAMROD 107,571
Nah. As a collector I don't like it. Also, majority people who are happy about it are people who easily gets jealous cos they can't afford to collect each versions that other people can. Real talk. Anderson123 37,645
No, I like the idea of having a deluxe album out there with more songs (no remixes) and a better cover. It really depends on the artist as well, Born This Way had it’s bonus tracks scattered around the tracklist with The Edge of Glory being the closing track, which made those songs be part of it, not just attached at the end ruining the flow of it. Madonna also included bonus tracks on MDNA, Rebel Heart and Madame X that were actually better than some of the ones on their respective standard version. This is more for the fans but of course they wanted to sell more copies, which I am fine with.
MrDarkGa 311
I usually always go for deluxe versions unless the deluxe part of it was composed of remixes. I do feel that multiple versions of an album today is purely for collectability which is fine and likely why we see less and less of them in the streaming age. But it does also lead to "illegal" downloads or zips amongst consumers, especially in Japanese bonus tracks for example that arent available on streaming services which can hurt the artist to a degree as these special editions are less likely to be physically bought if theyre on a download site for free and undermines the collectability aspect a bit for the same reason. Deluxe versions can also make the standard feel a bit like an incomplete project or undermines how the standard edition is arranged. It all depends on what the deluxe part of it is. The multiple artworks is also 100% purely to push collectability in physical copies unless its a very minute change. I.e. E•MO•TION only changes its accent and title colours whereas Born this Way totally changes its vibe.
gumzy3000 7,139
I always feel like songs that are in the deluxe version but not standard are somehow considered inferior and not important to the main body of art. trolly troll troll

In the old days, you could only record 30 - 50 minutes of music on a single vinyl. Many symphonies are about that long. Anything longer dilutes the point of an album in my very very humble opinion. One thing is having a 39 minute album of outstanding songs. Other is having an album with 4 songs as single material and the rest is filler. Judas is coming, let the cultural baptism begin. rodrigouuu 236
I only like Deluxe Versions when they are exclusive for a specific place or they have something really cool but if it's just extra songs, I don't get the point of putting both versions on streaming services.
