hey madonna got Swae Lee to sing on Crave so anything is possible. the power of pop girls is incredible

It's common for newer rappers to be on a song of a popular artist for more mass appeal. Kendrick Lamar was on a Maroon 5 song but that was a time when he was selling out a bit, but hasn't done that since. Nas is just a weird choice, why would he want too? Who asked for that? Frank Ocean has his own aesthetic, I mean maybe, but he's not someone who would collab for a hit, it has to be organic. He has to know those artists and work with them musically, like he did with Beyonce and Kanye West. He strays away from pop radio.

It definitely would if Gaga still had that image of being an artsy showgirl but now she literally has no identity.

She's somewhere between Bebe Rexha and Dua Lipa.

That's what I'm missing from her an IMAGE.

But yes Applause is a SMASH that is super underrated and I wish she had performed it at the super bowl.

I agree. :bradley:

The eras before ARTPOP had really strong iconography and fashion that really set the tone of the era and also "burned in" an image of what she would look like - so you knew it was gaga when she was walking down the street or in an interview. Also the way she talked she was very grounded in the album's concept and lived in - that's why I fell in love with her.

ARTPOP Era was very messy with visuals. She wanted have the clown paint makeup, classical art piece costumes, her strawberry blonde wavy giant wig + im naked somewhat mermaid, then okay I have black bangs. It was all over the place. All I really got was if we could belong together why can't art and pop :sis:

I'm hopeful for Chromatica. She as has a ton of iconography (Tribe logos, Sine wave) and colors (Pink and Green). Although I feel like she doesn't have the "deep" side of it. All we have right now is "fun dance songs that are also sad"(?) Trigonometry? Epigenetics? :oprah:

Roar has 3 billion views though from the same year

There's two different types of relevancy on YouTube. Videos that reach over a billion views, and there's videos that struggled to make under it.

didn't it take like.. ten years for bad romance to finally get 1 billion views??

I believe the entire ARTPOP album would do better now, honnestly. As we all know, when it got released It wasn't a very loved album by the gp + tame music got more popular, but it's been tame for manny years now. At the time it was my least fav from her, but in the last 3 years it became my fav. Just because most music nowedays has been so tame and boring actually (to me) I think would stand out more and do better.

No...it wouldn't do any better now because indie pop and trap are still very heavy on radio
