I think it depends on perception If people don't like it much I think it will debut strongly just cuz of the names attached to it and hype but quickly fall off. If they play their cards well enough, I think it’d have a good shot. Build hype (for the love of god please), time the music video release, seal the deal for some playlists for initial stronghold, radio deals for a little bit of a lasting impression, etc What makes this release interesting is that it combines huge pop fan demographics. Ariana herself still has a pretty large presence with the general public, I think. It can work. In this case I think we will definitely get a top 5 hut then more of an applause chartrun - IF callouts aren't horrendously bad Nothing beats a #1 but a Gaga single that spends over 8 weeks top 10 has been such a rarity... A #1 with Applause chart run would be amazing.
