Note: Her SSN being in the leaked documents is not confirmed, and I do not recommend anyone try to find the files and download them to check. You could possibly be doing something illegal and/or the files may contain some sort of malware.

There has been a lot of interesting information to come out of the legal leak, and I am not saying people who are looking at it are doing something wrong (I've been looking at the thread)

But, we have to consider how much this leak will impact her.

I do not think many people will care about a lot of this stuff outside of us (unreleased songs, ARTPOP app, etc.), but there are things in this leak that could potentially destroy Gaga's life. 

I've seen people say that her SSN was in the leak. If this gets into the wrong hands (Tbh, hackers have it, so it already is), they can ruin Gaga's life. 

Phone numbers, emails, even addresses can all change. But, a SSN can not. Technically it can be changed, but it is a very long and hard process.

The SSN of someone at Gaga's position is something bad people want and is at high demand. The fact that these hackers made it so easy to get, there is no doubt this is going to fall into the wrong hands.

Gaga is releasing an album in two weeks. I can't believe the amount of stress she is under already given current events, but with this on top of it...

I love her so much and I feel so bad for her right now. She deserves everything right now, and this devastates me.

I hope this is untrue.

Edit: I've been told that Gaga has gotten her SSN changed before, so she knows how to do this. I'm not as upset about this as my writing implies. I'm a bit dramatic. I was just worried. Please let's all be careful and let's not spread anyone's personal info and if you see someone doing that make sure to report them!

This is definitely the worst leak ever. But, I do not think this is her worst era. And, if it is (which I don't think it is), it's in no way her fault. Gaga has been so strong through all of this and I know in my heart this era will be amazing in spite of things out of Gaga's control. I'm ready to go to Chromatica!

Truth is this leak will probably change very little. Address was already well known, Phone numbers and emails are easily changed and this won't be the first time they have to change I'm sure. Only thing is the SSN - if it's out there that's bad, however having the number be monitored for suspicious activity will be a precaution they will have to take seriously is all - and her being who she is I'm sure they already have someone monitor it. SSNs get stolen constantly and if they are monitored once it's known they are out there then the damage can be mitigated. Also worth noting - we don't have know that something like her SSN is in the files at this time - that's all just rumors right now.

Someone can open up credit cards in her name. Open up mortgages, buy cars, you could access her money. You can pretty much do anything with a Social Security number if you have other information to confirm your identity.

A quick Google search says you can change your social security number if its proven to be misused? I dont think its too much of an issue. Someone as high profile as her won't have an issue getting things changed.

We can assign a different number only if:

Sequential numbers assigned to members of the same family are causing problems;

More than one person is assigned or using the same number;

A victim of identity theft continues to be disadvantaged by using the original number;

Yes technically you can, but many people, even if it has literally been stolen, have been denied. It is EXTREMELY hard and rare to get it changed. I've heard of many people who's numbers have been stolen and that it's literally being used by bad people, but they still can't get it changed. It is not as easy as it seems.
