Xoxo Adriana 15,040
fun fact (for those who aren’t an ari fan/follower) Dangerous Woman (album) was originally meant to be titled “Moonlight”. This song being the title track, and “Focus” being the lead single, however she changed it to DW, scrapping Focus as the lead and DW (song) being the lead instead. she never specified why she did this but i’m assuming it’s bc Moonlight wouldn’t have been as bold of a concept as DW was. instead she turned Moonlight into a perfume she even grabbed a lyric from this song, “sweet like candy”, and turned that into, you guessed it! another perfume! truely a reverse Haus Labs expedition. Wait whaaat. This is all news to me! It's my fave Ari album too. Someone educate me please. 1. Why did they change the album title from Moonlight to Dangerous Woman? 2. Why did they exclude Focus from the final album track listing? I totally forgot that it wasn't on any of her albums but thought it did pretty well as a single... 3. Do you know how fans and her management felt about Everyday? It was actually one of my fave songs on the album (so underrated) but I know a lot of people thought it was a flop. 4. Why was Everyday chosen as the last single as there were definitely more radio-friendly songs on the album?

Why was Everyday chosen as the last single as there were definitely more radio-friendly songs on the album? 1. wait wait i’m a flop she said she changed it bc Dangerous Woman was a better title, despite her really liking “Moonlight”. she released focus in october of 2015 then dead silence about the album for the rest of the year. “Moonlight” was originally meant to come out end of 2015 (rumours said december 2015) but instead completely restarting the era by releasing DW (lead single) in feb of 2016 followed by the album in May 2016. when she released focus it was known the album was gonna be titled Moonlight, so we had zero idea DW was a thing till she announced in early 2016 you can read about the full reason here: https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6897341/ariana-grande-album-name-dangerous-woman-moonlight 2. Focus is available only on the Japan deluxe edition CD of Dangerous Woman along with another unreleased song, “Jason’s Song”. she excluded it most likely bc it didn’t really fit the album theme and the songs on the album are different to it. yes! the song did incredibly well especially since it was very hyped as a lead single and due to the heavy success of My Everything a year prior 3. Everyday is an underrated bop!! however yes as a single, totally forgotten now. it should’ve done better tbh as she released it the same month she began the Dangerous Woman Tour, however i personally think it was because the video was very mediocre. we had incredible music videos for “Dangerous Woman” and “Into You” so perhaps that was the reason! also i think the low hype “Let me love you” as a single received made Everyday kinda drop. 4. this i’m unsure of. tbh there’s way better tracks on the album that are more single worthy imo. “Greedy” and “Touch It” deserved to be a single, and they were fan favourites (just like “Scheiße” was for LMs on BTW). hope this helps! it’s news to most people as this stuff is all the way back in 2015, and there were no pre-orders for Moonlight at that point, so all people know about is the masterpiece that is Dangerous Woman! also, enjoy this unreleased song from the Moonlight album that was meant to be the “Intro” song that she debuted at the DW tour it’s a masterpiece
juicyjuicy 1,978
Thanks so much @Kylie Jenner! Really helpful with the full explanations and all. Cool thing with the Intro vid at the end too - so much happening in the background!
