I appreciate everyone saying that rona ruined her plans, and possibly her vibe.

And I feel badly for her too. But at the end of the day, this is her job. When you're thrown a curveball, it's time to get strategic and creative. Just like the rest of us need to.

I do think better promo is coming next week though. She's still got a couple weeks, plus post-release. So that's enough time for a decent campaign.

Until now, it feels like that album only exists to bank some money from all these album editions,lp,casettes and all this merch,

but apart from that we got nothing, she hasn't talked about Chromatica except the Paper Magazine interview, she could record a video on her home telling us about the Album, the music, the process of creation, what it means to her, what she wants people to see and feel from the music, how she feels about releasing an album during pandemic, what she hopes for the future e.t.c

 

But maybe they want to save these kind of things for later, the last week before the release or the week after, i hope for the best

I did the mistake of listening to leaks before and it just ruined the experience. I want my experience to be after i buy a physical copy, play it in my car (my car is old so it still got a place to play CDs) but CD quality of music is heavenly.

It beats bluetooth digital music hands down. Nothing beats that for me when the car is filled with Gaga's music and the speakers and the car seat vibrate to the beat, and the sound is so crisp. It's the closest i can be at being in a Gaga concert during the reign of Ms. Rona tbh.

Not saying everyone should feel this way, it's ok to be disappointed. But I'm sure some people could benefit from not focusing so much on everything surrounding the album, but on the album itself.

But Gaga has always been a visual artist, her just releasing the music with only one music video just feels odd.

I will not be able to emotionally connect to it the same way, since it is the first album from Gaga, imo, that feels disconnected from what she truly wants to do. 

And I don't care what it is that she wants to do. 

Whether it be a jazz record, a country record or an opera album... whatever Gaga releases, if it's supported by a vision and passion and enthusiasm, I'll support it and take it to my heart. 

It's a shame because I think Chromatica will be one of my favourite Gaga albums and I love the concept, but it's lacking the most important thing for me... and that's, well, Gaga, lol.

Give them a week. I know it may seem like there’s no promo or hype, but it’s not like they can space out a digital promo blizzard. It has to be condensed to take effect.

Think like the general public: Imagine hearing an interview with her talking about new music and not being able to stream it immediately. It’s not as effective as having it ready and out there.

Also, I am sure they’ve secured a generous amount of sales for the album with preorders (it’s been available for 2.5 months at this point) with all the merch bundles, ticket sales and tweets.

She is connected to many people and channels because of the WHO situation, I’m sure she’s going to end up on every show plugging the album the week leading up to the album and release week. Most are scrambling for content so an interview with an A-lister will definitely be appealing to them.

I urge you to not feel down about it, and just hope that they’ve been working behind the scenes all this time on filming, editing and producing quality content to distribute to shows for promo.

Do not compare the Dua situation to this because it’s unfair. She had already pushed 2 singles prior to COVID wreaking havoc and making us sit at home indefinitely.

Firstly, I just want to say that this response isn't 100% directed to the O.P; I'm just writing down my thoughts in regards to the whole notion that people "aren't hyped for Chromatica."

Look. I think it's understandable to say that you want a little more promo. Compared to other album cycles, yes, Chromatica, as of right now, doesn't have that  much promo. That being said, this isn't like other album cycles. We are in unprecendented times right now. Her schedule and everything she worked for was thrown to the wayside because of COVID-19.

She delayed the album because of two reasons: 1.) She wanted to do the One World concert and she helped raised $128MM. That seems like a pretty good reason to delay the album, if you ask me. 2.) She needed to restructure her whole promo line-up. Blade said that Chromatica was going to have promo only second to BTW. That's a huge deal. That doesn't sound like someone who "doesn't care about this era," or someone who just "wants this era to be over and done with."

And to be honest, that's the thing that annoys me the most about these kinds of comments. You, personally, may not feel excited about Chromatica, but let's not put words into Gaga's mouth. She fights hard for her art and she works tirelessly, day and night, to produce art that she believes in. To simply say that she just "doesn't care" is, frankly, insulting and disrespectful to her.

Now, if you are personally disinterested with this era, to that I say, wait until next week. Blade said that all of the promo, except for the live performances, is still being kept. That's a huge deal, again, considering he said that Chromatica was going to have promo only second to BTW. You guys will be hyped up for this album. Remember when she posted the "You're my favorite" thing like two weeks ago? There were dozens of pages filled with excitement and anticipation for that one little thing alone. I'm hyped, you're hyped, we're all hyped. There's no reason to be melodramatic about it.

The music is still coming and I'll still be bopping too it. F*ck hype tbh. It all comes down to the music in the end. If the music isn't any good no amount or hype or promo will save it from it's misery. The album is coming and it's coming soon. That's the only thing that matters to me rn. Plus realistically she'll start teasing/ doing promo next week. If she doesn't that's her decision.

I think she's definitely been way more reserved after everything that happened during ARTPOP so my hopes are that she goes full throttle with the condensed promo once ROM is announced. Ever since the original release date was announced I had a feeling that they would feed us little tidbits which would get bigger as the date was getting closed (but then rona happened). As for her... Idk, man, I just hope that after this album (which is obviously for the girls and the gays) she just does whatever she likes and feels passionate about.
