well I think this album was created during a happier time for her & everybody but since then the world has some to a major crisis and she literally told us that this is not her priority  yeah its unfortunate but..I'm happy to know that at a time like this, we Stan a woman who has her priorities straight!  She is selfless.  and on top of that, we get a whole new album! if you look at it that way, its a win-win :)

Definitely think this is true and thank you for your more positive view - but I think, actually, one of the reasons why I can't connect to this project (yet) is because of how the album isn't her priority.

And I don't mean that in regards to COVID-19 and delaying it to fundraise. That, I wholeheartedly agree with and commend.

But, she's had this album for a long time now (some tracks for over two years, even long before Enigma) and although she's been busy with ASIB and Vegas... I think the fact she hasn't been eager to release it is really questionable and reflects on this project being more of a commercial endeavour, than one from the heart.

I mean, EVERYTHING has come before this album.

From Haus Labs to mental health awareness (which again, I commend) - Chromatica has been constantly put on the back burner and it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

1) Because she's supposed to be, at least to me, 'the' pop visionary of our generation... you know, the one who cares deeply about music more than anyone else on the scene. and more than any other side project.

And 2) it suggests that the music is not where her mind or vision presently it is at this moment.

Listening to a body of work that represents Gaga's 2018 vision, for example, isn't electrifying to me when the main reason I love her work is because of how representative it is of what she does and deeply wants to do at the moment in her life.

I don't know. I hope I'm not being senselessly negative here, I'm just kind of reflecting on why this album isn't gripping me yet. It's just, on so many levels, missing that 'Gaga' element that goes beyond a good (or even outstanding) song.

For me, Bad Romance would not have been as enjoyable had it not come from an artist so engaged and so creatively inspired by the song. I guess that's my point. I need to feel something from her to feel something true from the music.

And that's not because I don't love her music (because I do on an objective level, even removed from her) - it's just that I've come to expect a personal connection from her projects... since, after all, that's what being a fan is all about.

tbh i think it’s just because there’s nothing...happening. like, ok, we know she’s releasing. but there’s no promo singles, barely any photoshoot pics, not much to make us excited besides one single and some leaks. also, i mean, gaga’s cultural relevance is pretty low so there’s no collective hype. i’m sure we’ll LIVE for the album when it’s out, though.

Gaga is very culturally relevant, she’s a motherf****** STAR !!!!

ah yeah, I totally get where you're coming from. she always took pride in her art and was so excited to share it & we're definitely getting a different experience w this album :/

Whenever Gaga makes an announcement regarding Chromatica, it trends worldwide on Twitter. If that's not a hint of the amount of excitement that is currently festering among various different fanbases, etc then I truly don't know what is. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure that they have a ton of promo lined up that will be released all at once instead of random teases that are sprinkled throughout the weeks leading up to release.

Didn't Normani and Beyoncé teach you that being a big thing on twitter rarely translates to actual success? Just like how Selena Gomez is the most followed person on instagram and yet, it does not mean her albums go 5X platinum.

Guys she is 30+ now. And she is a legend. She cannot go out and promote her album like a newcomer. She keeps her hype level under control and as compact as possible. She is doing the right thing. Look at her Rain on Me cover, with its '90s look, it is enough to hype me for weeks.

Maybe they’re so exhausted because of the fanbase basically harassing them for the past 6 months. Just a thought.

Yeah sucks
