As soon as i saw the billboard and how it had this 80s scifi meets late 90s early 00s videogame chunky aesthetic i was soooo hooked. The same with the new promo piece she posted a few weeks ago. The album cover itself is solid but the two versions confuse me a bit as the official store is advertising both. I think the shiny metal/official version is the digital cover and the leaked version is for the physical copies. I do prefer the leaked/physical copy cover as it vibes nicely with the H.R Giger inspiration. The tracklist i vibe with as an art piece but not necessarily as a tracklist as the embossed text could a b*tch to read unless you already know whats there. The green and salmon pink colour scheme for the overall web promo is a choice.. It would have made more sense to keep the Stupid Love or Album Cover neon pink as the text's colour and offset it with a dark indigo like the album cover or just plain black or a violet-grey tone. Lowkey let down that the Stupid Love video didnt play into and lean on these aesthetics she already advertised and must have had an inkling or demo imagery for future visuals but thats neither here nor there.  I just hope it stays as cohesive yet well presented as possible and doesnt become Enigma level cringe. The visuals (costuming, aesthetic, sci-fi B-movie vibes) are rad as hell, but they lose me with the tracklist formatting/font. They textured it to hell so it's barely legible, and the font is bonkers. It's all cohesive mind you, but that's the only part I'm not feeling. So much of what artists are doing right now is either really dark (The Weeknd, Billie, etc.) or really light/fun (Katy, Lizzo, etc.) & I love that sheâs built this aesthetic to be both. Also, I think itâs really smart artistically bc you can go in so many directions with an aesthetic thats so in-the-middle like this.. whether or not she does anything with it is TBD tho Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
