I think its straight up twisted that fans of Azealias such as yourself so adamantly cheer her on for her brash attitude and argue relentlessly about how strong and independent she is. Unwavering for sure but shes too prideful and thats not a compliment. She dug herself into a hole and instead of acknowledging the fact that shes an asshole she kept digging deeper because shes too arrogant and obnoxious to just stop and check herself. You can't just say "apart from the beefs" no. She made everything public, always, and obnoxiously so. She wanted that to be center stage. She made it center stage. She kept digging that hole instead of being smart and working her way to make the kind of music she wants to make. Shes like a spoiled toddler throwing a tantrum and screaming and writhing on the floor of the supermarket because shes not getting the toy she wants. She didn't do herself any favors and it has nothing to do with "kissing ass" either. M.I.A. is strong and independent. She is an example of an artist with her own point of view that has to fight to get it out and it has nothing to do with being a door mat. Azealia Banks is a douchebag, straight up. Thats just the truth. And thats whats hindered her album release overall. Do I think she has made dope music in the past? Yes. When and if she releases an album will I listen to it and will I like some of her music if not the whole record? Most likely. But in regards to her attitude and why shes in the predicament shes in im not having any of this delusional fan b/s you're spilling.

Is an Azealia Banks stan really trying to sarcastically tell me to cry them a river? Considering all of the dumbass excuses you all make for her. SHES A VICTIM OF HER LABEL. Please...

damn wheres page 2?  :fan:

I've liked some of her music, I think she has a cool point of view. But victimizing her is straight up stupid. Im sorry. Mismanaged? How has mismanagement impaired her career? Shes the one thats been impairing her career with her reactions. She is a mess, yes. I think she is the opposite of strong, I think shes weak. I do however, think shes better than the things she says. I do however think shes just very stubborn and therefore kept sabotaging herself instead of making all focus be on what was important.

As for the whole Gaga thing, a lot of her fans were "monsters" or whatever so the delusionals are expectedly not going to like her after the myriad of insults she made. These insults were not mild, they were pretty unoriginal though.

As I said, yeah I like Fantasea, yeah I like her EP, yeah I have no doubt i'll like future releases from her as far as her music goes. But it baffles me that anyone defends her like some people do. Its really delusional.

Yeah and as I said if you read, her being frustrated is understandable and her planning to move elsewhere to have her voice heard is also understandable. Whats stupid is how she handles herself and the fact that all of you so adamantly defend her brashness as if its representative of empowerment and strength. Its the opposite of.

is she not allowed to celebrate? she been in that situation for 2 years and finally got out so shes happy, and so are her fans.  no one is making her the victim. all your trying to do is write all these different points and trying to connect them when there is no connection.

I am conflicted about this turn in Azealia's career. Her career has been at a standstill for months, and it was the label's fault, but at the same time, labels are important for a reason. Its like what's worse? Having a label that has little to no interest in the artist, or not having a label at all.

what? its not like that for her. shes not a new artist with no fans who just got dropped. shes just going independent which has been great for other artists. if she could do it without a big label for 212, she can do it again

all she needs is great music

So basically now she isn't broke with expensive taste... she is just plain broke :lmao:

awkward when she made 2 million (estimating) last year from just playing festivals  :lmao:

at least know what your talking about before you post flaimbait  :kisses:  thats not very born this way of you ;)

well to be honest, artists these days dont even need a label. they need artists like gaga and azealia a lot more than they need the label industry. look at macklemore, even though his rap game is watered down to pop in my opinion, he still managed to have a huge hit without being signed, that put all the control in the artist and ultimately he got to do what he wanted. people like gaga and azealia will still be doing their thing with or without corporate big wigs waving their dicks around and pissing on their art. if azealia can self promote and just go back to releasing her stuff herself, as long as its good, itll get out there somehow.

Thank you so much for this post.

Her attitude has everything to do with her struggles with her label. Shes like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum, instead of working with what she has and focusing on making dope music and getting her point of view out there. Not even for commercial consumption but just to be an artist.

If she wants to do it independently more power to her, but the way shes spoke about how shes handled her Interscope situation, the fact that shes been "begging" to be dropped, its so stupid.

I don't agree with you guys in regards to supporting how shes handled it and how she perceives it. She was given an amazing opportunity and she childishly squandered it and thats supposed to be celebrated? Her having problems with her label and being frustrated is understandable, I get it. Her wanting to move on and go elsewhere to have her voice heard is also understandable. Im just talking about the WAY she handles herself and how its stupid how you guys cheer her on. Its all ****ed up.

You might as well publish a novel about all of your issues with Azealia. You are seriously too much. :smh:

She's been begging to be dropped and the contract terminated for quite a while now, so I'm very glad she's being put out of her misery :ohno:

Hopefully things will align and she'll be signed by another label and things will go smoother from there  Also, hopefully she's learned a few things from some of the unfortunate experiences so far, whether due to the label's actions or due to her own actions

Artists do need a label, or they need the kind of hard work, good-will and reputation within the music industry, an established large fanbase and the ability to self-fund that M&L had...to even have a slim chance at radio play and any kind of industry support or attention.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis hired a company to help them get their music into stores. That company, Alternative Distribution Alliance is an arm of Warner Music Group, one of the of the major labels. The Heist" was released independently through ADA after years of steady growth for Macklemore and Lewis.

Azealia will probably need to take some time to build up a good reputation, in order to try and convince another (major) record label that she is worth the risk. I'm sure she can sign with a small Independent label, but they won't have the influence and money that a major has. Artists can get another major to sign them after getting dropped, but they better bring something really convincing to the table, and that is going to take some time and a whole lot of good will and hard work.

Y'all going into tangents about this who.

She messed up her career. Most of us don't hate her for hating Gaga; Lana, Lorde, etc don't like Gaga and we are ok with that. We dislike her because she's homophobic, racist, bitter and plays a victim.

Shame I like her music, but she's putrid.

Lorde likes Gaga, she has praised her multiple times and has never said anything negative about her. Just thought I would mention that.

Big? :smh: Like Macklemore, which was the example given and the group being discussed?

Thrift Shop sold over 13 million copies. How many did 212 sell?  What was its BB position?
