Azealia Banks

YUNG RAPUNXEL is a growner.

The song has a weird structure, but that's what I love the most. Chorus is totally in your face, very Azealia.

I bet that if she makes a 'viral' choreography for the video it'll grow on casual listeners and general public. It's a great club song imo.

I've never really listened to her unreleased music, but I have all of them on my phone. But I was listening to Seventeen the other day for some reason, and it's AMAZING. <3 my jam right now!

Check my review of Yung Rapunzel! i wrote it for a friend who has yet to listen to it, and i think it captures the mood of the song well:

"Danger!" says the voodoo man.
Yung Rapunxel, the debut single off of Azealia Banks's debut album "Broke With Expensive Taste" set to release this summer, storms up a bass-heavy industrial-sized thumper that can only be set in a remote rave jungle.
First off, be forewarn that this is not 212, nor will you think that it is better; at least not at first. But it really doesn't need to be another 212 or 1991 or Liqourice in order to be a great way to open her first official release. "Going for authenticity" as she once stated in regards to the album, the song is as honest and loud-mouthed as the Dali-meets-Tumblr style single cover, featuring Azealia with growling mouths as eyes, belonging to a popular internet meme in which the same is done to pictures of celebrities.
In Yung Rapunxel, the main hook, or Coupe De Grace, lays not in the rapping, for you will find it rather simplistic and not as sharp-tongued as her previous efforts, but rather lays in the pseudo-screamo verses. This song creates a completely thunderous sound, complimented with echoed claps, thunder storm effects, (sampled with a random Mary J Blige snippet, "So tired of all this drama") and a primitive sensibility. Yung Rapunxel is to Azealia, what Lady Gaga's "Judas" embodied for her artistry. All the classic elements of what Azealia has been inspired to make is there; a little rave, a little rap, a little techno, but the overall product is much more upfront and brash than before. With only 3/4's the substance as Lady Gaga's "Judas", all regret is set aside for this is Azealia's first single, whereas gaga's "Judas" evolved out of 2 previous albums before it.

Musical Elements:
Primitive, tribal rave, with rapping, and screamo.
 Distorted bass kicks
Rudimentary rave-lazer synths, similar to that of a Prodigy song from the turn of the century. (most prominent during the last verse)
   Mary J. Blige

Sounds Like:
A rave in the middle of a jungle during a thunder storm.
The heyday nights out at Universal Studios Horror Nights in October, specifically a song they would be so obliged to play on a loop in      one of their mazes.

Color Synthetic:
 Black silhouettes of jungle shrubbery
  Purple skies, ridden with thunder
A Green lazer light show to top it all off.

@omgitsandrew

Omg, me too, the two songs are nothing alike, except for the bridge, yr is like judas' bridge X1000 better , minus all the annoying, sweet chorus ( yeah i've started to hate judas, i can barely stand this song anymore )

HELP

She tweeted 13 songs on standard, 17 on deluxe

Also, BBD is on the album.

Miss Amor and Miss Camaraderie (this is her favorite track on the album) are back to back on the album and will be singles

There's a track with Pharrell

It was actually smart of her not to release the best thing as a lead single so they could continually release good songs after good song

I'd assume Bambi is still on the album so maybe a track or two.

I swear what if the Prodigy offered to produce a track my life is slayed
