I was a DJ from 2007-2010 while I was studying at uni. I can tell the difference between disco, techno, house, eurodance, Italo house, Balearic house etc. Done many gigs in my time.

The fact that you cite Billboard - of all people - as your dance music experts is such a kii. No-one who is serious about dance gives a finger fuq what Billboard says about anything.

Back on topic, this new remix sounds like very late 90s/early 2000s (1998-2004) progressive house mixed with French house and aspects of early 2010s synthwave.

Okay, child?

first of all, I stopped taking what I read from you seriously when you called Alejandro a classic/90s house track. And "child" seriously? :billie:

and finally, like I said the remix does sound mainly like 90s house, the official song however does NOT sound like any type of house music AT ALL. Like you said before it sounds more electro/synth pop than anything house.

oh and P.S : the "I was a dj in 1734" argument won't give you whatever kind of validation you're expecting to get in this website, there are many questionable "DJ's" out there :lmao: (not saying its your case since I don't know you or your music :fan:)

The Stupid Love Remix doesn't sound 90s, its more 2010's Eurodance club music :vegas: but the actual song is 90s house with 80s and disco influences in there. It is 90s house predominantly

please tell me where you see any kind of house stems in Stupid love :toofunny: the remix is 90s (it's full of classic house stems)  not the official song

As I said above, calling it 90s is so inaccurate: it shows a diverse collage of late 90s/early 2000s prog house infused with French house of the same era, as well as the lost genre of synthwave from circa 2008-2011.

Synthwave itself is heavily influenced by classic 80s video arcade game noises and sci-fi movie soundtracks.

So it’s a very eclectic sound.

Well to me, Stupid Love directly takes influence from the same era as these songs:

Stupid Love takes its influences from 90s House, while mashing it with disco and having a slight 80s influences. All music is an evolution of the previous era, but it would be inaccurate to say that Stupid Love does not take influences from 90s House... especially when Lady Gaga and Bloodpop have stated that this album is predominantly 90s Chicago House.

Its not categorically a 90s House song, but it takes its main influence from 90s House, while also taking influences from 80s Synthpop/pop and disco.

Disco Heaven

I love this remix, it's VERY house and I'm LIVING for this vibe as someone who always wanted Gaga to explore this genre. It's actually one of the best she's ever released, top 10 for me.

When your generation tries to be sarcastic, you just end up sounding rude and making a fool of yourself. This is why no-one takes you seriously. And this is why your own generation hates itself and instead listens to old music. They don’t want to listen to you.

I’ll say it again for the kids out the back- I never claimed Alejandro was a “90s house song” LMAO, I said that it was one of several songs from the 2010s (along with Walking on Air by Katy Perry, My Love by Jess Glynne and Hideaway by Kiesza) that the press and Tumblr/twitter were celebrating as being influenced by 90s house music and part of a 90s comeback.

Sorry girlie. But 90s music has already been done to death. Let it go.

We can just call it deep house inspired..... :billie:
Decades are not too relevant here, the genre is thriving.

I would like to have serious deep convos with you sometime on your abilities to hear the differences in the sources

Sometimes I think something is House when it isn’t and I need new input to discern what’s what.

on topic, I’m still in hospital unfortunately does anyone have a link (and yes I will buy the track)

Are you sure Gaga/Bloodpop said “90s Chicago house”? Because Chicago house was the birthplace of house in the mid 80s, and by 1990 was already extinct.

There are some seminal tracks from the 80s that sort of sound like the Stupid Love remix. “Can You Feel It” by Mr Fingers and “Acid Tracks” by Phuture.

Stupid Love does sound very house-influenced, that part I agree with you. But more late 90s and early 2000s than the early 90s songs you mentioned.
