Noir 17,441
I was too young to know her earlier eras, I got on board during Circus so that holds a special place for me.

Certainly From 98 till 2001, that’s when she started hating the public attention and from there it gradually grew into her taking a break from late 2004 till 2007 and eventually to her breakdown. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

Gimme More 35,393
Baby/Oops/Britney - Britney mania was insane and she was at the top of the world! Such amazing eras the press/media really started turning on her from the ITZ era onwards. Blackout has to be the worst era, us Britney fans were so worried she was going to die and people were predicting her death all the time and Rolling Stone even wrote her obituary. It was such a sad time as a stan to see her going through such a tough time. The Glory era really seemed to show Britney in such a happier place, the happiest she had seemed to be in many years. At the time she was an absolute megastar, she was everywhere and to me she was like the female MJ, at the top of her game! The era came with amazing singles that still slap, and flawless MVs (Overprotected, Slave 4 U, I'm Not A Girl). 4 hours ago, Gimme More said: Baby/Oops/Britney - Britney mania was insane and she was at the top of the world! I think the tone of the country changing in the aftermath of 9/11, the increased popularity of hip hop/rap/rock and her (wrongly) being blamed for the Timberlake breakup obviously took a huge dent in her popularity. You can see some of the discussion on this 2000s forum: "A number of reasons led to the end of the "golden era of Boy Bands". Most notably: 1.) The pre teen girls who loved it grew up and moved on 2.) Rap/RnB took over the charts 3.) Changing times with 9/11 4.) Annoying Pop Punk and eventually Emo became popular with a lot of the girls who listened to Boy Bands 5.) It ran its course and died like all fads" http://www.inthe00s.com/index.php?topic=40386.15 Anyway, my favorite era of hers is In The Zone followed by Circus, since the latter was absolutely a great comeback after so much of her difficulties. But I have to chose In The Zone first because it unarguably showcases her as an artist the most (and as a composer, unlike various peers she had been contrasted aganist): (1:50)
