No one is freeing, youre nt a saviour for banning the use of veil. Even if they feel repressed, some women wont be liberated happy, these women arent some product of ones argument. They have feelings, are own individuals. They have a social, cultural background that should be respected.

If a woman feels dirty, stripped because shes not covered. Id say its something to respect in a democratic country. 

I only know 2 islamic women, from bangladesh. I dont really know much. But thats a principle. 

Apart fron that, the facemask is a whole different thing. As you need to use face mask underneath a visor, same goes for veil/hijab. 

Even tho this face mask is still so controversial. Im kinda changing my position towards off mask.. In everyday life i see most negative aspects of using it.

I don't understand the correlation between making masks mandatory and banned face veils.

We are in the middle of a global pandemic, usually if you went out with most of your face covered you would be asked to take it off. Wearing face masks is to prevent the spread of a deadly disease that has infected millions.

A veil covers most, if not all of your face, that could be a security issue

plus, lets not act like women are often arrested/killed for not wearing a veil/hijab in some Muslim majority countries (though this is not the case in all Muslim majority countries) most women in countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan etc. do not have the CHOICE to wear a veil/hijab or not, though this is not the case in ALL Muslim majority countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, most Muslims in western countries) it is the case in a majority of them.

Face veil is too intense. Most Muslims around the world actually do not support it as it is not in any of their scripture. It's a cultural thing that has been merged as a religious thing by some. Had they banned the regular head scarf then I would be up in arms because that would be totally wrong but them banning face veils / burqas is something even many muslims support. In fact I'd go as far as to say most of the world's muslims support not wearing face veils.

I can give you many instances where she has clearly advocated for Muslims and/or Islam. She literally has a song called burqa/aura.

You're correct, wearing a burqa is not in our scripture and I personally am not a huge advocate for it. Hijab is mentioned (but not mandatory except during prayer) but not burqa.

girls stop trying to alienate various Muslims who adore and love Gaga. Many muslims are able to nit pick what they want from their faith and ignore other aspects they do not agree with. That is the beautiful thing about living in the West and having the option of choice. You don't have to abandon Islam to be a fan of Gaga or stand by her principles. You can balance both identities. Isn't that what most Westerners want from Muslims? We want them to be able to transform their faith or their understanding of their faith. Not just abandon it because if they do that then there will be no one to help reform the faith itself. Currently moderate or "cultural muslims" are actually the #1 victims of the violence and hate you are speaking of by the extremist muslims. Let's support and uplift moderates and "cultural muslims" who want to practice their faith peacefully or just want to identify with their faith without even practicing it instead of just always bashing it and them along with it. It's one thing to be critical of Islam (all faiths should be criticized and dissected) but it's another thing to always be so dismissive towards muslims and painting them with one single brush.

You did not have to write all that. All I did was mention her song Aura got negative attention for appropriating for using the burqa fashion as an accessory and sexualizing it in her lyrics. That just wasn't a good excuse.

ummm? This is certainly the place to have this discussion. You may have not come for me (because I am not Muslim) but I do have a lot of Muslim friends and I study the faith as well as many others so it does concern me when people try to alienate Muslim fans at any given chance. Sure she got backlash and publications criticizing her but a large amount of Muslims also liked her use of the term or were having constructive debates online about it. We never hear about them or mention them do we? We're always quick to bash them.

If a French woman were to migrate to an Islamic country, she'd be expected to wear a hijab/burqa or potentially face setbacks, prejudice or even risk of death.

It depends on how the particular country looks at religious rights.

For instance, the right to religious freedom and the freedom of expression are written in the First Amendment of the US Constitution. The government can’t restrict Christians from wearing a cross, nor can they ban Muslims from wearing a Niqab.
