I think she's trying a new strategy of not saturating us with information as a way to keep expectations in check, and keep the music as a surprise. If you think about it, both Born This Way and ARTPOP soured some critics/listeners because of how it was framed as this major cultural moment, so I think she wants to exceed expectations this time. It can irritate me when I have a perception of a song before ever even hearing it. There's so much to be excited about! Stupid Love is so good and I'm still not tired of it. I know not everybody can but I got merch and even enjoy just seeing what I didn't buy! I'm sure if she could've she'd have held off on releasing the track-list too.
