Robert Pattinson refuses to work out for 'The Batman'

corsets nowadays are used to slim your waist, to help you get that kardashian unreal body. each disney princess is set in a time and fashion period, belle for example is set in the 1700s, during the rococo era. corsets were used not to slim your waist but actually as a bra, to give support to women while carrying those heavy skirts. its not about being pretty its about historical accuracy, which should be an issue since all of the other costumes in the movie were pretty accurate for the time the movie was taking place in.

you're telling me that robert pattinson should get buff because he is a super hero but when did we ever see batman lift sh$t up? he is one of the few superheroes that actually have no superpowers and they are based solid into technology, i dont see why batman should be buff and not just some fit guy. its so funny that when robert pattinson denied working out people are talking about "fat" batman like theres no in between. theres either buff or fat. theres not fit, theres not athletic.

pattinson's batman just adds to the stereotype that men should be stupidly strong and buff, theres nothing else in the story, while watson's dress+lack of corset created an inconsistency with the other characters  in the movie .

But, the Belle in the live action is very different than the Belle from the animation, she's more wild, she's stronger, she's riding a horse, she's breaking the boundaries, so a corset would limit her freedom as a woman, this is the symbolic part, so to add a corset, would only limit her character and would add nothing to it except "beauty"

"The actress told Entertainment Weekly she had a hands-on part in reshaping the identity of princess Belle. In the past, she was solely an object of desire, and let’s be honest—true to Disney princess form—pretty helpless and dependent on males in the film. Watson was determined to play a princess who had more agency and would be able to take action, and a corset just didn’t fit in with that story line. Watson worked closely with the film’s creators and costume designer Jacqueline Durran to create a new look and personality for Belle. She’ll star as a skilled inventor whose interests include horseback riding."

Now it feels like you've never read the comics and only watched some of the films.

Batman is not only a regular man with gadgets, Batman's training is about strength and not beauty and this kind of training makes you buff, Batman needs to be able to lift Superman and other villains, which he did in many occasions.

He needs to be that strong to lift a person like Bane.

Or to wear the Mech Batsuit: "The Mech Batsuit is a powered exoskeleton and a technologically advanced, heavily armored version of the Standard Batsuit"

Now you're trying to make it a social problem but it's not at all, it's just about an actor that signed to the wrong roll.

He knew that he needs to workout a lot and get to a certain body shape.

A good example of an actor that changing his body for the roll is Christian Bale:

Part of being an actor is also to make changes to your body and fit the roll that you signed up to.

Body transformation for a roll vs clothes that causes a temporarily body transformation are 2 different things.

I would say the same if he'd refuse to become fat for a roll because he's tired of eating a lot, you have a role, do the best for it, you're an actor.

I'm not serious 99% of the times ;)

i strongly disagree but i see no point in the continuation of this conversation since our opinions are the exact opposites
