It's a beautifully shot video. She looks beautiful in the close up shots of her singing on screen. It's the best cinematography of her videos, I love how extended the song is. The gun bra is cool, the atmosphere is dark and edgy. The black and white scenes is reminiscent of Vogue. It really is a fashion themed video. Just wish she didn't feel like she had to cause religious attention to it, it didn't need it.

That song remix sends me up :diane:

The video version of Alejandro just sounds more epic. I love that version.

Lmao true. But I think this is the one with the most iconic imagery. I would include (s)AINT but that one is too NC-17 for this site :laughga:

It is, however, one of her best-shot videos. All other things aside, I find this video to be one of her most stunning to watch. It's one of the many reasons I generally prefer she work with fashion photographers on her videos (like I&V). The creativity they bring and the way they highlight this streak of Gaga's own creativity is just lightyears ahead of what other collaborators of hers have been able to bring, by and large.

Definitely Agree, look Applause for example!

They can create great and cohesive images and translate Gagas thoughts well on video

While Gaga herself is good MV Director (as seen in MTN) and she just need that professional approach that photographers do

This video is so creative and visually intensive in a good way, I really wish she had of been allowed to release it.

The current official video is so bland, literally just her standing before every world flag from the time of the song's release, the message of the song doesn't come through the same way as it would if she was able to release the original video.

Plus the choreography, the bathroom scene, the mini-cooper-through-the-wall sequence :messga: this whole video is a serve!

I think the only time recently we've come close to such a politically controversial video was God Control last year, which had a whole storyline concept to it, bringing light to gun control politics. Though God Control was nowhere near as popular among the GP as American Life was back in 2003.

yeah god control made me think about American Life and Madonnas fearless approach.

I love how every-time she finds a huge success later she goes by artistic and risky route ,,true blue>erotica,, ,,music>AL,,

It was obvious that she didn't care about commercial success with AL, she wanted to send message but I understand that label didn't want her to release that song, I mean, after that video American radio almost halted her, hung up didnt even peak top 5 its crazy how they just turned on them when she said truth.

But yeah, besides burning nuns, bombing runaway and showing pictures and videos of children deaths and army was a over every bar possible so I understand their label.

But after I saw that video, my respect for Madonna jumped for like 10000 levels :firega:

It's definitely an intense video. If it had of been released I don't think they would be able to show it on television much, maybe on later times and certain channels, but I highly doubt it would be in the regular rotation - or they likely would have made her create a new cut to remove some of the more violent visuals (soldiers with torn off limbs crawling around the runway, famine shots, dead children etc).

Sucks that there is always so much censorship in the industry. It's still definitely an intense video though, yet I wish it had of been released.
