Artistically, she has surpassed it like three times already :ohwell:.

Commercially or culturally, probably not. ASIB came close though :vegas:.

If A Star Is Born was just an album of solo tracks from Gaga, I could really consider it to be her best album.

It will never. Because nobody expect her to create that iconic album, served visuals after her first. But she proved that she's more that just a popstar. It may not be the best album by her but it just feel the best because of the impact it has during the day, when people have low expectation. Music videos for Bad Romance, Alejandro, Telephone being the start of amazing visual music videos in music industry, people will have high expectation after. Whatever she does next will not be that shocking anymore. It has become normal. So I guess even Chomatica fills with huge smash hits and success, it will feel like the runner up of the best album that she's ever created.

I agree. Born This Way is otherworldly.

That being said, I don’t think Chromatica will top The Fame Monster or Born This Way. For me at least. An album with songs like Stupid Love and Free Woman doesn’t stand a chance being compared to albums like The Fame Monster and Born This Way in my opinion.

I only heard Stupid Love so far. It's far from her best single or song but it is my favorite lead single since Bad Romance.

Mhmmm... I think the album needs the Bradley tracks and the interludes to make sense. Each song is a banger but otherwise it’s a really disjointed album, it’s the narrative of the movie what brings it all together.

If the rest of the album will end up being like SL then NO ..

And tbh only Gaga and Redone can top TFM .. np one else

I wish Gaga works with him for at least one other song before he fully retired..

That is true. It has some of her best songs and her voice is at her best there. But it does need the movie to make sense. Maybe I just want her to make an album in that same genre as that.

I think it’s going to be one of her best musically and it’s probably going to be a fan fave

well... many classic acts had topped their great albums throughout their careers. So I do believe Gaga can top TFM and BTW in the years to come. I agree Chromatica may not top them, but i guess it's a step in the right direction. But who knows? we might be proven wrong with a hell of a surprise

I highly doubt it. I don't enjoy SL, and while the FW leak is good, it's nowhere near any song of TFM. The same goes for the other leaked snippets.

Soft, soothing, and succulent

I think so. I don’t believe The Fame Monster is her best album because I don’t think she really has a best album. Her best is yet to come IMO. I think her albums from Chromatica and onward will be better. I don’t think TFM is all that impressive, and it wasn’t revolutionary. It was enjoyable, nothing more.

I have a feeling it's going to rise to be one of her best albums and that a lot of fans (including myself) will likely feel it's her magnum opus once it releases. The visuals, the concept, the sound, all of it is so amazing and creative and after this whole ARTPOP Act II cancelled -> C2C -> Sound of Music/Til it Happens to You/Original LG5 cancelled -> Joanne -> ASIB streak fans and the general public are starving for the old Gaga.

but when it comes to the relevance i can't see it coming close to The Fame Monster era. Gaga was at her peak. She doesn't resonate the same way that she did back in the day

It will surpass TFM

Now surpassing BTW, that’s another thing entirely:billie:

Once again sweetie, that’s your opinion and whatever you end up thinking of Chromatica will be your opinion. For some of us she already topped TFM with BTW. Now, do I think she’ll top BTW with Chromatica? Probably not, but I don’t expect her to. It’s one of those albums the artist shouldn’t even think of topping bc it’s that good. But I do expect the album to be good. It’s really strange how some are already judging its quality based on one song and a few snippet leaks.
