Rank Marina’s Albums

The good sis Miss Marina is an iconic indie-pop star and criminally underrated/unknown among the GP. She has released four studio albums: The Family Jewels, Electra Heart, Froot, and Love+Fear.

For me her albums, ranked, are:

1. Froot- This one could have gone either way, but I think Froot represents Marina’s most mature and comprehensive album to date. The tracklist is structured well, is sonically consistent, and it includes some of her best lyricism (e.g “Froot” “Savages” and “I’m A Ruin”

2. Electra Heart- Another cohesive album with a clear sonic throughline. I love a visual album, and this one delivers, but I don’t feel as though it’s as well-rounded an album as Froot is.

3. The Family Jewels- There’s nothing wrong with this album, it’s just not at the level of the two that followed it. This album in some places is a companion record to Electra Heart (Hollywood, I’m Not a Robot) Her vocals are on full display, and the quirkiness and sharpness that would come to define much of her discography is also out in spades.

4. Love+Fear- I don’t dislike this album, but it pales in comparison to her other offerings. Songs like To Be Human and Emotional Machine feel hollow, and the entire concept of the album doesn’t necessarily feel fully fleshed out in execution; Perhaps a better title would have been Light+Dark? That being said, there are some bright spots on the album, such as the Clean Bandit collaboration Baby and kiss-off No Suckers.

Electra Heart > The Family Jewels > FROOT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Love + Fear

tbh the first three are on pretty equal fields and I love them all. But I just never got L+F the songs are painfully boring and just never cared to listen to it again after the initial few listens

Same as yours. Froot is her masterpiece and Love+Fear feels hollow and "self-helpy" instead of bringing any profound reflections on the human experience. The production also seems uninspired, like she tried to achieve what Witness wanted to do and even that album wasn't successful in achieving it.

It's hard to rank them because i see TFJ-EH-Froot as a trilogy, you can see clear character evolution.

Even L+F is not so far behind.. as much as I love marina her songwriting is very particular, not precisely diverse, which is not a bad thing. the problem with L+F Is the kinda dated production and the fillers. 2 things Which Electra Heart also has by the way...

I'll mop you all across the floor, snatch your fυckιng weave out Βitch

1. The Family Jewels ; Marina in her purest form.

2. Electra Heart ; not as mind blowing as TFJ but the era and concept make up for it where the songs lack

3. FROOT ; I never understood why this album is the  fan favorite tbh. I think the title track is by far the best song on the album (and one of her best songs ever)

4. Love +Fear ;  most of the songs I don't care for but some really grew on me; they makes me feel truly peaceful and calm which is a feat not so much music has

1. The Family Jewels - So quirky fun and punchy. This album really made me fall in love with her more than just her Primadonna electra heart bubblegum stuff which I do still adore. Just so oddball and weird and I just love every song passionately and is just perfection and definitely in my top 5 albums of all time and my old avi featured the cover.

2. Froot - This is the period I began to stan marina fully after falling in love with EH and TFJ and so I got to experience the full era (even though I did go to the LHC Tour as well I didn't fully stan until Froot). I love the cohesion and wish INHA replaced Gold or Solitaire. The neon nature tour was amazing, the first time I ever waited outside a concert all day to get close and I was legit like 20 feet from her Halloween night and it was incredible. So this era just holds so many memories (also side note: unpopular opinion but Weeds is top 3 from the album)

3. Electra Heart - The first marina album I heard and began to get interested and slowly began to stan. I love the aesthetics and it's such an Iconic pop album of the 2010's that I couldn't put it lower

4. Love + Fear: I do love this album a lot and it has some amazing bops that I adore but it lost some marina spark for me and it has the most skips of any of her albums so that's why it's my "least favorite" even though it's a very good album

Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever!

All ablums have unique and lovable sound with many bops but if are to be ranked

froot > electra heart > love + fear > family jewels n drugz

its all given the state of mind I have been when albums were released. also i found out about family jewels just when froot came out, thats the time i became a Marina stan, and so thats the album that I listened less than others, but it has many bops that i love listening even today
