A LOT of people I know have either switched hardcore or doubled down. I take it because half were essentially manipulated into believing he was something he wasn't and now that it comes down to it is actually against everything they believe in - the other half knowing exactly what he was and now doubling down so they can be as racist as they always secretly. Even my family members that called me crazy and that I "misunderstood" him for ages now finally see exactly why I had my opinions that I had - it's so hard not to say "I told you so" to them... His parents emigrated from central america to flee poverty/violence back in the day and he's gonna vote for Trump. Like........................................................ go figure!!! It matters. Yes, there are tons of people who are sold on Trump and won't switch their votes no matter what he says or does (like the guy you were talking to). BUT, there are also tons of people who aren't sold on Trump and instances like this (which seem to be happening every time he opens his mouth about the virus) are turning a lot of them off. My best friend’s parents were immigrants from El Salvador but are supporting trump because they don’t want more immigrants coming in and “make them look bad” and because they think more immigrants means less resources for themselves. They are extremely selfish and ignorant to say the least. Needless to say, my friend does not associate with her parents anymore.
