The Fame is better than ARTPOP

Other than the singles and a couple other tracks the rest of The Fame is really basic and under what she’s capable of making that it’s hard to enjoy when you’ve heard her newer work.

ARTPOP is a much more unique, consistent and inventive album than The Fame.

In what way is ARTPOP consistent? The Fame is a concept album with a theme, all the tracks flow to each other, and has a consistent sound throughout the album

ARTPOP on the otherhand has no theme, the track list is very random, and jumps to multiple genres throughout the album.

I mean ARTPOP starts off good with Aura then Venus, Guy, Sexxx. Dreams. That's a good flow so far because they all have an electropop synthpop sound going on. Then the cycle completely breaks when Jewels and Drugs and Manicure come on. But then it has that clean synthpop electro sound again with Do What You Want and ARTPOP. Then there's a fashion theme for two songs and Swine is just randomly there and then it goes back to a good flow again with Mary Jane Holland, Dope, Gypsy.

That's exactly why I said it would benefit better as an 8 track EP, to have a better consistent flow.

The Fame is an excellent concept album but ARTPOP has a more cohesive sound.

ARTPOP visuals are way better too.

We have to admit The Fame has some filler songs meanwhile on ARTPOP Gaga worked hard on each of the tracks to make them unique...

Anyway, The Fame has a little bit more "longevity" than ARTPOP

Because I praised one of her best albums? :reductive:

No, but because you've been a very negative user here.

More cohesive? Perhaps. Better? Hell no. Nothing on The Fame makes me feel the things I'm feeling with ARTPOP. That pure rush of joy, that need to dance. Plus she really took risks with ARTPOP.

Blown Away

I agree actually, ARTPOP is very reflective of Gaga's state of mind in 2012-2013. She wanted to do so many things at once and her ego was a bit of out control, as much as I hate to say it. She tried to come off as a genius at times, the one interview where she doesn't know what to say anymore and the interviewer smirking is a great example of this.

ARTPOP is an album that tries to combine too many things as well. Some of them turned out very good, like Do What U Want and the title track which are both simpler songs that don't try to be art with hidden meanings. Some of them turned out really messy, Venus and Mary Jane Holland being the best examples imo. Aura also falls into the latter category.

The album has its highs and lows, definitely isn't the worst album ever made but neither the best or some misunderstood masterpiece imo. But this is just my opinion of course.

They shipped it, but it got shipped back

I don't think any album has fillers, but I think ARTPOP would've benefited more as a shorter album and was better produced. The iTunes festival versions sounded better. I don't think ARTPOP is more cohesive but I'm curious on your thought on that.

Also The Fame had much better visuals. The album cover, photoshoots, music videos, and just how she dressed in her concerts and performances. It was very unique and innovative. Although I like the music video to GUY, Applause video had too much going on, the album cover is simply Gaga buying into her own hype trying to make something artistic, and her costumes and image didn't seem as innovative but more like her running out ideas and out-Gagaing herself with one over the top look after the next (remember that giant bird mask). Her promotion for Applause had like ten different looks going on.

How have I been negative when I say positive things about Gaga? Or do you confuse negative with not agreeing with the popular opinion on here?

The singles of The Fame are some of the best in the history of music but ARTPOP's non-single tracks are all really creative and strong than those of The Fame.

You just called Gaga lazy yesterday for not producing one song.

Oh please I said it in jest like "hardworking Gaga didn't produce every song, lazy!"

I'm sorry if you didn't get that message.

It is for me too. It's a more "sincere" and natural album, tho I like ARTPOP too.

It's just an opinion, and The Fame gets unnecessary hate all the time.
