Disgusted Cringe GIF

Maybe you should say why you think it's not basic instead of posting this mean gif? :selena:

I think it's kinda basic because the instrumentation is very simple (basically a beat, a piano, a bass and a sound effect) and it is kinda repetitive. It kinda reminds me of One Kiss (Calvin ft. Dua). That's not necessarily a problem for me since I loved the song, but I wouldn't say it's a special song.

Why do you think it is non-basic?

I wasn’t trying to be mean, so I’m sorry if I made you feel that way. :runhug:

It kind of is simpler structurally, but to me it has more of a lasting, ethereal sound to it. Like it sounds more powerful than those songs, less kitschy I guess? Like maybe a feeling of timelessness like in a lot of 80s dance hits that just sound like classic songs. Idk it’s hard to explain :selena: I wouldn’t really call either song basic, but if I had to use it to describe either it would be SL over FW by a long shot

Honnestly you're toxic, not me.

I said I liked the song, and it's probably my favorite from Chromatica so far (I didn't count Babylon because the snippet is too short/not representative of the song.)

I think it's an extremely common sound. That's it, that's all I said, there was no criticism at all. And you start getting mad for literally no reason, as if I said that Gaga was boring or whatever. You could be constructive and say WHY don't agree, and maybe the conversation would be less 'toxic" (that's your words)

ADVENTURE

I can already tell I will live and breath this album for a year. So excited! And I’ve only heard SL

Honestly, these forums, social media,  and the like have a level of peer pressure forcing you to feel... something. It's okay if you're genuinely just wanting to keep that feeling to yourself, and want to wait for the album to release first.

I'm not getting any sleep tonight because I woke up to a beautiful life. I'm awake.

I understand you more with words, but I see what you mean. I agree that Free Woman has a timeless vibe, but not in a unique way like Bad Romance, that's why I thought it was kinda "basic". To me has similar vibes to the new Dua album, which already reminded of Calvin Harris' songs (especially One Kiss that features Dua herself lol)

At the end of the day, I like the song so it doesn't matter to me:hug:

Daylight Jokers

Ya'll went from talking about not being hyped for the album anymore to calling the entire album basic after listening to JUST TWO SONGS. :saladga:

Okay, yeah. My bad. I agree it's your opinion and that it's not toxic. This is subjective

I'm glad you like the song! For me, it's a refreshing sound from her, since we haven't seen her dabble into the 90s music like this before. The electro-house vibes, her vocals, the verses and the bridge make it really stand out. So in that sense, it's not at all basic. It's not a generic beat and some vocals slapped on to it. She's gone full 90s house diva on it. I'm really looking forward to hearing the album version

To each their own!

I agree that she never took that direction before, so it's kinda new for her. As much as I love her older songs, I think I would get bored quickly if every album sounded the same, so I think it's good that she changes everytime. At the same time, I feel serious vibes from her unreleased 2009 songs (Animal etc.) in the pre-chorus so there's an element of nostalgia which is great.

I wonder why people say it's an old demo though. Apparently the album version is shorter, but I don't think it will be much different. I expect it to be the same but without the last chorus/post chorus. Because technically the Stupid Love leak was an old demo too (from January 2019) and it ended up being the unmixed/unmastered album version
