Queen Gloria 3,464
Don't really care. I love the song and she's allowed to break free a little from her stern "I only produce my own music" rule. People don't complain that she no longer hand-designs every piece of fashion she wears, so..
Haralampos 2,063
I can't imagine Gaga on a DAW making music. 😂 Close to production she usually plays the piano or involved somehow on musical elements by choosing stuff. She wrote the song as always. She's not a song producer so I'm not expecting anything. It's not that strange at all.
Glamourpuss 29,062
Tbh I thought she wasn't involved as a producer at all. I thought Venus was the only one she produced.
NFRatwell 23,290
Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t she say most of the album or at least SL was her writing lyrics/melodies and BloodPop making a beat for her? And then she would learn it on the piano, and they would send tapes/invite other producers? I don’t think this was a hands on production album for her. She tends to be best at producing/writing acoustic songs so it’s no suprise her more electronic albums are full of songwriting and producer credits that’s not her. If anything at least y’all will get the demo for 1000 Doves and that’s probably be lead produced by her.
Haralampos 2,063
I mean she's not producing music on technical stuff, the beat etc.
Gardevoir 9,822
You forgot that when she credits writers she is very generous. Even redone once said, that he wrote literally one word for some song (or something) and he got credited. Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

She's incredibly involved in the vast majority of anything she puts out, it doesn't matter that a song here and there doesn't have full writing/production credit. Didn't she also not write a song or two on Joanne? This x1000. It’s 1 of 16 songs on the album. Let’s wait until the album comes out before having threads like these tbh

He came up with the intro and Gaga came up with everything else and he got credit.

Take that 0.5% of revenues. 😜

I saw your previous comment about how it doesn’t seem like she would work on DAW but in the Paper magazine interview the writer mentioned how she was flipping switches and changing things in the studio to make sure everything played right. I don’t think she’s clueless about it considering it’s all her equipment in her studio lol
2School4Cool 6,434
Many artists who write all of their own songs don’t actually produce the songs. She at least writes all of her music unlike a lot of others. She’s always been a very collaborative worker and that seems even more apparent on this album as she says she let more people put their hands on the tracks because she just wanted everyone to come together and make it sound as good as possible. I personally am not concerned to see she didn’t produce it, she still writes all of her songs and she has a strong artistic vision for this album (and all of her albums), it’s still very much her project. She said in a Billboard 2015 interview that she was making beats for ARTPOP instead of writing songs on a piano. Plus she also talks about making Jewels N Drugs on a synth-pad in a 2013 interview. Venus validated that, I guess? Now I'm curious as to what DAW she is primarily familiar with, haha. I guess she has a different process for each album, and this one she just simply took a step back. 3 points in and ready for more

And, to be quite honest, this is how we're going to keep getting fresh material from her. It's hard to reinvent yourself without any input from others, she needs people to show her new stuff because she just can't know everything all the time lol I'm completely fine if I find she didn't produce/co-produce many songs because I know she delivers great stuff and just owns everything she touches.
