I feel that the contenders would be After, Hours, Chromatica, Fetch the Bolt Cutters, Fine Line, Future Nostalgia, Map of the Soul: 7 and Sawayama. That's a really strong list. All have a score of more than 80.

Pop Vocal Album's contenders are Chromatica, Future Nostalgia, Manic and Rare. It's a competition between Dua and Gaga, but if Gaga manages to get a 90 on Metacritic, Gaga may win.

Fearless is a country album. I could see the similarities with 1989 but we all know that 1989 won AOTY because of its commercial success as it was a commercial behemoth. I don’t think FN could pull that. Grammys tend to award commercial success when it comes to pop albums winning AOTY.

I really hope Sawayama gets on the radar. A truly astonishing album. I'd love for it to make it into the pop categories, at least.
