Can someone explain what Decade era this advertisement is supposed to be inspired be?

I’m assuming the late 1990’s. It makes me think of the Gregg Araki films. Look them up!

:triggered: I'm so scared about Chromatica, hope I'll be wrong and I'll like it

basic dance songs, singles written for today's charts, choruses with same style, colorful and no artistic era and #shotoniphone videos aren't what I wanted :saladga:

but it's just my  disappointment, so who cares

Lmao who cares? It’s music. Enjoy it. No need to be pretentious.

I love the 90s fanzine/early internet/vaporwave/handmade aesthetic of Chromatica. It's so awesome.

But every era has been colorful? The BTW video is a technicolor wet dream, TEOG as well, ARTPOP explains itself, TF was, TFM had Telephone and TMB. Gaga has always used color to some degree and when she does it’s rarely subtle (Joanne being the lone time it was and even then it had the JW MV).

I LOVE this. I can see myself walking through a dystopian downtown in like Hong Kong and seeing this. I feel like it's exactly the aesthetic shes going for.

People complaining that there’s too much words/info:saladga:

Did reading comprehension of majority of the people declined overtime?

OT: I LIVE FOR THIS KIND OF AESTHETICS! The sheer amount of knowledge and details make me look forward to the album even more:giveup:

The one time I go to bed early she posts this minutes later! I woke up to it earlier and what a SERVE. I’m obsessed with the visuals this era, I love that she’s fully committing to them, it’s all so detailed and really well done.

I can’t believe how much I’m relying on hearing from her to brighten my day by the way; seeing this has really cheered me up. I’m sort of glad the record was delayed, for a few reasons - one of which is that it’s given me something to focus on and anticipate during this endless boring and lonely lockdown. I think I can survive without a promo track as long as we keep hearing from her every couple of days.

Some 90s kids here are claiming it looks 90s, but to me it doesn’t have any of the proto-vaporwave digital 90s early internet aesthetics associated with that era.

It looks way more 70s-80s to me, very grainy, textured and curvy as opposed to shiny 90s-era straight lines and minimalism.
