Something Gaga must incorporate into future shows

I think Gaga puts a lot of work and thought into the production of each song instrumental. Part of me thinks she keeps them as is, is because she might think changing them would completely change the feel of the song. The overall instrumental and production of a song are just as important to the connection each person feels with said song, as the lead vocals are.

See "Stronger" at Piece of Me or "Toxic" at Femme Fatale tour. Random examples I could think of at the top of my head. But changing the instrumentals really sometimes changes the songs for the worst. Just not as exciting to experience live.

Imagine "Just Dance" without those intro synths? It wouldn't be the same.

I agree and disagree somewhat, I love hearing the original songs, but I would like to see something different, I mean she did fly through the air performing Just dance and the guitar riff in lovegame was nice as well. @SourCandy I disagree with you lmao, she did put a LOT of effort in her superbowl and Coachella shows, I think she was getting tired during enigma because of her fibro.

Of course she put effort in her SuperBowl performance, it was her peak as a performer.

All those in the OP - Madonna, Kylie, Britney - rehearse for months for their tours and make brand new performances. Gaga is only seen rehearsing 2 weeks before the tour. Pretty expected considering she always does the same performances.

I totally agree - I have been thinking that for years.   I don't even think she needs to completely alter the song's structure like how Kylie and Madonna do, but maybe it would add something special if she altered just certain elements of the songs's instrumentation (is that a word?) while keeping the original vibe/melody of the song intact

I always thought it would sound interesting if Paparazzi got a bhangra or Middle Eastern influence for an updated performance, while keeping the same beat and melody intact.   I know this is a really random example but I've been watching alot of Chisato Moritaka's old 80s stuff on youtube lately, and the production on her songs were really interesting, it was basically 80s synth pop on steroids.  I love the 80s-meets-middle eastern aesthetic at 0:24, and think that kind of sound would pair really well with Paparazzi live performance.

I mean, I'm not the one complaining here, I mean she has fibro, which can take a toll on her health and movement, maybe it's what she wants to do idk. I don't really follow Madonna, Kylie, or Britney as closely as gaga.Plus I don't really look at bts of tours either.

Hence why I said she should ditch most of the choreo and rely on acting and stage props :poot:

The one thing that I think is lacking from Gaga's performances that I see the other greats do is revamp their older hits. Whenever Madonna, Britney Spears, or Kylie Minogue perform a song that would be dated, they update the style to make it fit the rest of the album, or the theme of the show. Sometimes it's just to change things up if a song is tired (if the artist is tired, then the fans are too).

For example, Kylie Minogue's cabaret rendition of "Locomotion," her first hit from the 80s that has aged rather poorly to modern standards. Adding a new twist to an old hit makes it worth listening to

Or what about Madonna's slow and sultry sitar-based version of "Like A Virgin." Similar to what Kylie did, she added sex appeal to a cheesy 80s song.

I would have posed the HD one but I prefer this wig over the curly one :sis:

And we need to talk about what Britney planned on doing for her Domination show, this trap remix of "I'm a Slave 4 U" deserves recognition, but I haven't seen anyone talking about it

I saved the best for last, Madonna worked in an unreleased demo from Erotica titled "You Thrill Me," and remixed it into a disco anthem to fit the Confessions Tour. This remix is refreshing and has replay value.

The point I'm getting at is that Gaga's shows need to start remixing her old hits, because hearing "Poker Face" or "Just Dance" with the same instrumental as it had ten years ago is boring :lana: Adding an electric guitar or a real drummer doesn't bring anything new to the table for these hits when they're being performed in the same way as always. It would be the ultimate serve to take her old songs and perform them in the style of Chromatica. And that's that on that, thank you :madge:

Don't jinx it all. If she ever sung BR like a Joanne style track at the JWT, I would have flipped my ****. But I see ur point

I agree, it would be interesting as well, maybe she will do it for the Chromatica tour. That would be cool, she was a theater kid after all :)

She needs to cut some of the older singles completely and then medley the other ones.

Leave Bad Romance and Poker Face alone tho.

Also Just dance, Paparazzi, and Lovegame can stay as well.

I just looked up your examples, and you're gonna hate this but I love that "Stronger" remix! I agree and disagree with what you say. The remixes can change the feel of the song, but that's the point. It's a concert, not an album. Most people go to concerts to dance, unless it's a symphony :poot: And the song doesn't have to be completely stripped of it's elements. Even in your example, the iconic foghorn synth is still in the intro of "Stronger." The strings in "Toxic" are still there (although they could easily be removed, I love Madonna's cover of it).

The Joanne World Tour was kind of an exception. I can't imagine her changing her entire discography to fit that soft-rock style (however Madonna effortlessly did it for the Drowned World Tour). However, for the Chromatica Ball she could very easily turn her hits into the modern dance pop club style that she's going for if she tried.
