Doot 2
Lol, not once did I compare the two of them. I also never said that they were the "Talent that doesn't get recognition." I simply stated that you shouldn't judge a song as "bad" just because it's not your taste and it didn't chart. And YES, Adele is overrated. Lets be honest here. There are singers who blow her away. People make her out to have the best voice in the world. She has a good voice, but it isn't incredible and it's kind of boring. I could name 5 artists off the top of my head with more talent. But thats the thing, someone cant claim to be "cooler" and "more talented" simply because they are different. At the end of the day, there is good music and there is bad music. Die Antwoord is bad music.

tiffa 169
I wish she'd stop 'shading' people. Reacting to anything hateful is so reactionary and lame, up until recently I really thought she was the type of person who rises above it and ignores it. Well done Gaga, you responded to negativity with... negativity. EDIT: Eh, I like her second tweet about it though. She should have only tweeted that. I agree. None of us are 100% consistent and sometimes we lose our cool. No one is perfect and she even said she doesn't see herself as a "role model". No one expect a certain something from her because she is contradictory. She offers poor advice, or at least she has been lately, while shading people. She's being more "honest" now, as she calls it. Yet, at the same time, she wants to promote and support her "Born This Way Foundation". I'm not exactly sure how this is going to "sell" if she continues to do these things. theotherside 0
But thats the thing, someone cant claim to be "cooler" and "more talented" simply because they are different. At the end of the day, there is good music and there is bad music. Die Antwoord is bad music. I can agree with the first part, but you can't just say they're bad music. You have nothing to back it up with. They're music simply isn't to your liking. I bet their fans are saying Lady Gaga's music is bad. Nobody's music is "Bad" It's all based solely on opinion. kupo 201
Actually, no it's not ineffective. The general idea that people give unto others when being bullied, regardless of what the subject matter is about, is that the victim should be quiet and not say anything. That is an illogical action, one which does not solve anything or help the victim escape from the bully. In fact, the bully then sees that nothing is done about it, and they continue to do it. Die Antwoord made a video mocking her, saying she has something wrong with her genitals, and then portrayed her getting murdered. And obviously, the whole purpose of them doing this, is because they are craving attention from the biggest popstar in the world. Hence why they constantly bring up them turning down the tour opportunity in almost every interview since. They want attention. So, the end result, is that Lady Gaga did EXACTLY what she was supposed to. She has had over 10 #1 hits on the Billboard Charts, without having to talk **** about someone. They, feel that in order to garner attention, they need to. She deserves to defend herself. She is human. I never said she wasn't human. And I'm not going to quit being a fan over this. If you look at my post history, you'll find I fiercely defend 99.9% of Gaga's actions. I genuinely believe she's a pretty incredible person and artist, and has maintained an absolutely shocking level of personal integrity given her status. But I'm gonna call bull**** when I see it, and her tweet was a lazy defense that took the form of mockery itself (which in turn means we could also classify it as "bullying" if you really want to try and bring that into it. And no, fighting bullying with bullying is not the way it should be handled. You can absolutely "defend" or "stick up for yourself" without resorting to attacking). And yes, it is ineffective, because outside of being able to technically label both incidents bullying, they couldn't be further removed in every single specific detail (and those details are crucial, especially, again, in considering those things I mentioned earlier: the ethical, political, and personal implications of each situation--which is what we're doing here). Gaga absolutely has a right to stand up for herself. Never denied that, never would. But that defense should not take the form of an attack itself. And in this case, even worse: her lazy defense played right into what Die Antwoord wanted and gave them exposure, and she also perpetuated a troubling concept about validation and art. Noelle 207
that band was signed to interscope until november last year thats why they left, in accordance to wikipedia In November 2011, Die Antwoord left Interscope Records over a dispute concerning their upcoming album and its lead single, Fok Julle Naaiers.[23] Vi$$er explained that Interscope "kept pushing us to be more generic" in order to make more money: "If you try to make songs that other people like, your band will always be ****. You always gotta do what you like. If it connects, it's a miracle, but it happened with Die Antwoord. they wanted to call their lead single "Fukc you Fukcers"? And they even signed with Interscope Records in the first place?
RitaOral 1,322
People are acting like she just made a speech insulting fat people or encouraging her fans to spread hate. Lets gets a little perspective shall we, this group made a video in which the whole point was that Gaga embodies Western culture and how we are apparently dumb enough to think there are wild animals roaming the streets in all parts of Africa and how everyone is Africa must be black (i actually find it offensive that they would think this of us tbh). They made it seem like Gaga wouldn't last 5 minutes in south africa and who she was basically not wanted there, Gaga responded stating she a sold out tour in South Africa and how unlike their claims she would last more than 5 minutes there, she's selling out stadiums and has more hits than them there which proves a lot of south Afrikans love her. much more than how many Die Antwood are selling out even. garnite 8
i mean there's losing your cool and then deciding to post it on twitter to 30 million people. that suggests instability and inability to keep your cool in the face of dumb music videos (lol) and that definitely shouldn't be encouraged by her fans egging her on.
