Hercules might not be a musical

The brothers noted that they were still very much in the early stages of development on the project to the point where they wouldn’t even note if it was a musical or not because they simply don’t know. “We can’t say one way or the other,” said Anthony before noting, “Music will certainly be a part of it.” That being said, it sounds like they were leaning in the direction of playing with the formula a bit and not doing a shot-for-shot remake like The Lion King or an overtly faithful version like Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin. Anthony explained:

"Well, I think you always have to bring something new to the table because from our perspective as storytellers, it’s not compelling for us to do a literal translation. We’ve already done that with our Marvel films. We don’t do literal translations of the comics because we feel like if you want that story you can go read that story. We’re going to give you a different story. I think we’ll do something that’s in the vein of the original and inspired by it, but we also bring some new elements to the table"

honestly **** this, the Mulan songs were not that memorable so whatever, but if there ever was a live action remake that needed to be faithful it's this one

I certainly hope they do include the songs. I always felt that it was okay for Mulan because of the nature of the story and how they were spinning the retelling. Hercules doesn't have that weight to it. It was one of my favourite Disney movies growing up and the songs are such a crucial part of it, especially with the Muses. I can't see them not going with that.

They can replace James Woods tho, we don't need Trumpsters in this movie, even if it's Hades. Disney can find a better Hades.

Psssh, the music is part of what what MADE the original Hercules so good and memorable. Modern Disney really sucks and has shifted to quantity > quality imo.

Idk if I hate this idea, but live action Beauty and the Beast was one of my least favorites so far. I liked the Aladdin one better like it was a spectacle, but there is always something that doesn't feel right with these remakes that try to be so similar to the original but ''better''....

Maybe they try it to be like a Thor movie, which means it could be more serious like the first two or It will be a comedy like the third one.
