It will ignite both fan bases to try and push their favs songs as much as possible. There hasn't really been that much passion behind a Gaga or Katy song and promoting it in a while mainly because both fan bases are sort of aging and dispersing. Their lives are getting more busy and fans of both artists have other fish to fry IRL BUT with this quarantine still in place in most of the world, irregular working hours, no university classes etc...even the older Gaga and Katy fans have a bit more free time on their hands. This could be the most passion we witness behind Katy and Gaga's next singles since Applause and Roar happened! (though hopefully with better results for us ) but yeah! I actually think this is a good thing. I remember reading an article about J-Pop ICONs Ayumi Hamasaki and Utada Hikaru having their albums released on the same week and because of that they both broke records because their fan bases wanted them to smash hard. Obviously I dont think Gaga or Katy will break records in the US lol but it may be their most succesful songs in ages if we all band together for our fav!
