So why was it postponed again?

Or because she wasn’t confident enough to release it without promo and to win some virtue points. I mean Occam’s razor...

Also no one said celebrities can’t have feelings. It’s just that many times it’s so obvious that these “feelings” and tears are a coordinated PR move or damage control than anything genuine.

There's nothing wrong with her not being confident enough to release it without promo. It's not a bad thing that you should criticize. Also, there is plenty of reason to believe that Gaga is very much into philanthropy, as evidenced by her entire career. I agree with the objective and historical points you're making, but I think that it's up to you whether to assign negative attributes to them.

Or more people could raise millions without pretending to be altruistic. I mean they aren’t mutually exclusive.

Damn you’re so nasty. It’s very sad to see a “fan” have so little respect and trust towards Gaga, you seem to have a very low opinion about her.

Albums can be released with a press of a button. She isn’t going door to door to deliver them. The whole think reeks of PR moves, rather than anything as she worded out. And actually there is something wrong, it’s not the lack of confidence in her work, although that’s debatable, but why lie about it and paint a picture that there’s something wrong with releasing an album now?

I don’t know her so why should I trust her? She’s a business woman making music, not my friend or mother, so anything she says can be well-calculated PR moves. I don’t have a low opinion about her, but I feel sorry for those who believe statements that come from their favorite celebrities, unquestioned, like there’s no room for lies or manipulation, when everything in the industry is full of lies and manipulation and calculated PR moves.

I think all artists are being cut some slack right now and that's a good thing. I think if she doesn't tour it or do live performances/in-person promo until a year from now people will still care. It's already seeming to be one of Gaga's most iconic works especially considering that coronavirus didn't make it flop and despite all the leaks so many people are still hyped-+ Gaga is being globally renowned as one of the big artists making a difference during this time. This album is legendary. It is serving a legendary effect. This is history in the making and a year from now we'll be in the reinvigorated pop cycle giving all the covid era music justice in the club, sweetie. We stan now and we will stan then. 😌🏼

Hmm, I think both can be true at the same time. That she knows it could be good PR, but that she would have done this anyway. She was scheduled for a release so attention was on her, so she used that attention instead of letting it go away, and she used it positively.

The problem is this new release date didn’t even come after the pandemic ended or got less serious. In the end it was just a delay. She won’t be able to tour. She won’t be able to go on shows anyway, so it was just a delay for no good reason and the humanitarian work could’ve still happened despite releasing the album, since she isn’t going door to door to deliver it herself.

It's far from over but a lot of countries are already starting to relax lockdown measures now, and there will be further improvement in 3 weeks when it's released I guess.

Yeah, I agree, she probably could have just released it.  But it makes just as much sense to postpone since she was told all of her scheduled promo was cancelled. Personally, if I had a major project coming out and at the very last minute every single thing changed, I would want to get a little more time.

In actuality, the delay was probably decided upon to allow Gaga and her team figure out new promo plans, which can absolutely take awhile to fully revise. Not only that, but Gaga simply did not want to release music while she was focusing on Covid-19 relief. Since Gaga has now accomplished what she originally set out to do in regards to raising money through corporations/curating the One World: Together at Home event; the era can now restart while garnering her full attention.

Either way, I'd wager that the rationale behind Chromatica's postponement was unequivocally justified.

For all we know, she's releasing it now before anything else leaks.

I dont think she had some sort of PR agenda, if that was the case, i don't think she'd be as silent as she has been

No, I was saying that the whole delay didn’t serve anything. The virus isn’t gone, events even further into the year still being cancelled, so the delay is for nothing. I didn’t say anything about it cancelled forever.

Ok, but like this whole thing is hindsight and you're stretching to find any reason to complain tho. :rip:

Why are you so salty over a 7 week delay? :rip:

The virus isn't gone, who's saying otherwise?  But the situation is more clearer and we aren't in a more "unknown" phase than we were at the end of March/beginning of April.  The world was in shock during the initial release, so releasing it would be just a plain bad idea.  Now people are starting to adjust in the new world, things seem more steady.  Just be happy she's releasing it this soon.  I cannot emphasize enough y'all are making a big deal out of nothing.

Edit:  And let's be clear.... this was not 100% Gaga's choice.  So if anything, put Interscope in your argument.  You seem to be only targeting Gaga --- which isn't fair.

I'm 100% blaming Interscope. I believe they just didn't have faith Gaga could sell enough during the pandemic and decided to change the date to a later time. Then Gaga wanted to do a benefit concert and her team seeing this as good promo for her. And worried about the leaks, they decided to move the date to what we have now banking in on the attention she received from the relief fund. Let's face it, Interscope had a big promo tour lined up for her this time because they needed that big first sales weekend bump and expecting her to sell consistly less over time. So they simply just panicked when it couldn't go that way. They didn't want another flop. But now they have no choice but to release it now.

Why does my “saltiness” matter to you? It wasn’t part of the argument. The whole point is that the album was delayed for no reason to a date that is not that different.

”the situation is clearer” yeah, sure that’s why countries are going back to lockdown after they underestimated the threat AGAIN? I mean at this point, I’m seriously laughing any time more cases show because it’s due to the same stupidity, underestimation And arrogance that people keep showing. Although this isn’t the topic here.

I feel like most of you are actively trying to find reasons to make Gaga look too much of an angel than the business woman she is, and it’s really worrying that many chose to blindly defend her or actually believe all the altruism she shows and think all this deliberate public crying is genuine and not some PR move.
