SpadesToStart 3,444
Early April was a scary time, filled with a lot of uncertainty, and I agree that it would have felt off to release a joyous dance pop album at that time. Things aren’t necessarily better now in terms of the actual pandemic, but I think we’ve all adjusted a bit by now to the point where it won’t feel insensitive for her to be promoting the album. Most of the US will be reopened by end of May too, so hopefully physical sales will be better than they would have been in April.

Promo doesnt stop after an album comes out, she still could've done online promo and still promoted it after the album came out. That happened with ARTPOP. so no you don’t do that lmao unless you want a slapped together, hot mess of an album promotion. Of course they’ll still be planning some, but by your logic she as soon as the album was done she should have released it rather than wait to formulate a strategy of release. Promotions take time to organize especially on Gaga’s level. If you want a smash album, that promo is meticulous, not thrown together. Stuff will still be planned after the album drops because you want to stretch the campaign but you can’t stretch a campaign if one never takes off so that’s why you plan a coordinated launch. as the entire entertainment industry got up-ended, you ideally want time to figure out what to do and how to best utilize the resources left at your disposal (i.e. the fortnite promo). if this was allegedly on par with BTW promo, I can tell you without a doubt that promo took *months* to plan in advance from simple subway graphics to radio promo to television to events. Unless you’re in the marketing scene, it’s really hard to conceptualize everything that goes into marketing, advertising and promotions.

I agree with this post: Even if it remains the same, the logistics probably changed substantially which, again, must be planned and organized. PLUS I think we’re forgetting that humans are running this organizing and if we think our lives are hard imagine having to plan this enormous pop album drop. It’s hard on you, work takes longer when you can’t be together, isolation makes you sadder and slower. Taking a month to regroup isn’t so bad. So we were complaining that she delayed and now we're complaining she's releasing it too soon after the delay? What the hell are y'all on. Christ. No, I was saying that the whole delay didn’t serve anything. The virus isn’t gone, events even further into the year still being cancelled, so the delay is for nothing. I didn’t say anything about it cancelled forever.

russ 31
TBH, I think it's mostly that the shipping situation has been sorted out + they can count on some physical sales again. Also agree they can't hold it much longer or it'll leak in full.

They all have their own motivations and feelings about things. I don't know why you all have to try so hard to tear her down. Whats the point? It’s just that many times it’s so obvious that these “feelings” and tears are a coordinated PR move or damage control than anything genuine.
