Guest
Prof Neil Ferguson has quit as a government adviser on coronavirus after admitting an "error of judgement". Prof Ferguson, whose advice to the prime minister led to the UK lockdown, said he regretted "undermining" the messages on social distancing. The Telegraph reported that a woman he was said to be in a relationship with visited his home in lockdown. Scotland Yard said Prof Ferguson's behaviour was "plainly disappointing" but officers "do not intend to take any further action". Police officers are being advised to explain the law to those breaching the guidance, however, if someone refuses to follow the regulations police can issue an on-the-spot fine of £60. The goal is to get most people to adhere to them, which it has achieved We have to slow the spread of the virus. If it infects too many people too quickly it could mutate and become much deadlier (which it already is starting to do). We have to buy time to make a vaccine and stamp this virus out before it has a chance to get worse.

Hes not some random asshole, hes the scientist that played a part of government full lockdown. The issue here is he is breaking his own rules, while telling people to stay home. Also, the government refuse to punish him, yet poor people get fined if they break the law.

That’s why it’s important to social distance. You don’t want to be responsible for infecting hundreds (if not thousands, tbh) people.

The government was throwing him under the bus. They have been hiding behind the science and pushing the blame on scientists. This was an easy target.
