If Robert Rodriguez did direct the video, and the imagery is now established as clearly being violent, what with the knife in her leg and all the burn holes, I would say there is a very good chance that this might be the concluding chapter of the trilogy. Gaga has perhaps become darker/jaded/injured after fighting for kindness for so long etc (hence the darker image and knife in her leg). The video is about her healing and “dancing through the pain” and maybe reaching a rainbow at the end of the storm (equilibrium + faith restored in Chromatica ).
