I want to get into new artists but they just don't have IT. The big problem is usually a lack of consistently good songs. They have bangers but only here and there. Trying to find an album that's nigh on perfect from an artist these days is basically impossible. The last album that I ranked perfect was maybe Lana's Ultraviolence and that came out in 2014. I ranked Honeymoon top marks at the time but retracted that later. Even my faves aren't perfect. It seems like we're getting more one hit wonders than ever these days. I don't see most new acts lasting long term. When Dua Lipa is considered the best chance we've got of a future main pop girl, you know we're in trouble.
