imnotyourbabe10 6,071
Love all the other ideas above...especially the album titles! Pardon my hokey responses but if I had to pick a single roll-out without BTW... 1) Marry the Night [not my favorite track but it sums up the message of the album being about those things that "keep us up at night" -- as she once described the record's themes] 2) Judas [Dovetails from being kept up at night? Complicated romance? Judas slaps so it has to be a single] 3) Scheiße [Leaving Judas behind but reflecting on the power of being independent -- "on a single prayer"] 4) Hair [Could be cut but kind of moves from the previous track and into empowerment?] 5) Heavy Metal Lover [seemingly found the strength from Scheiße and Hair and "rules the world"] 6) Yoü and I [From "ruling the world" to desiring or reminiscing on the times with a former flame?] 7) The Edge of Glory [rounds out the themes as brought up in the previous singles] Additional promo: Americano -- just as a political statement? Or Government Hooker (especially if it was post 2016 election in the US lol) Gosh, fell in love with BTW all over again. The religious themes are so lovely...Electric Chapel deserves some recognition, too!
GagaUnderYou 4,971
The way Gaga originally wanted it to be: 1. Marry the Night 2. Scheiße 3. The Edge of Glory 4. Born This Way 5. Judas 6/7. Government Hooker/Heavy Metal Lover (dual single release)
bees and honeyy 541
I would call the album Electric Chapel bc it alludes to the castle at the BTWB and I’m sure the tour would have had a chapel instead of a castle, which is still pretty similar. October 2010: “Yoü and I” - she already performed it a bunch and so everyone would assume that it was just a standalone single, but the MV would be a different vibe from TFM and hint to the EC era theme. Moderate hit, Top 10 at least probably as the GP would enjoy a more subdued Gaga. January 2011: “Marry the Night” - a return to form, Grammy premiere with the MV it already has, the Prelude released alongside the single announcement and the MV with the single release to build hype. Likely to be a big hit, potentially even #1 if she played her cards right. Late March 2011: “Heavy Metal Lover” - I feel like this would suit well as a follow up to MTN, with a sexy video and it would be a moderate hit, like Judas was. Due to the songs sensual nature, she could use this single as an opportunity to promote at evening shows with loose censorship laws, such as Jimmy Kimmel, Jonathan Ross etc. Early May 2011: “The Edge of Glory” - last taste before the album, shows another softer edge to Gaga, with a more exciting MV ideally, this song is quite tame and so Gaga can promote on morning and daytime shows again, just in time for the record release. May 2011: “Electric Chapel” - the album, no deluxe, just one standard with all the tracks July 2011: “Judas” / “Scheiße” double A-side single release. Two fan faves, perfect opportunity to make a high-budget 10 min double video with a storyline, MTN part two perhaps, it could even be a viable Telephone sequel in theory Late September 2011: “Black Jesus + Amen Fashion” - sleeper hit, maybe a Top 20 song, high fashion video with a few famous modes perhaps, can coincide with a fragrance release if desired Late December 2011: “Hair” - closer song of the era, big video surrounding identity, with the end left on a cliffhanger announcing “ARTPOP”, which she began talking about around this time anyways. i know it’s a lot of singles but it’s what Gaga would have wanted probably, she wanted to do visuals for everything
Gagadonna 10,801
We should make the same kind of thread for ARTPOP Like "If ARTPOP was released in 2012" or "If ARTPOP wasn't ARTPOP (but kept the same songs)"
