Alright you clearly think you're on a higher level than everyone else who's "whining" so I'm done here.

Well i mean yeah, i'm fighting my corner. Obviously i think that what i'm saying is more rational and logical.

I don't know why i'm fighting with y'all, have a GREAT day. And remember to stream Swine!

If she really is naming her kid Influenza and raising it as non-binary, I feel genuinely sorry for that child.

Naming the kid influenza is ridiculous.

However, raising the child non-binary is probably for the better. Doing so only means the child can choose their gender and express themselves freely.

EDIT: I didn’t see the conversation everyone had :air: But I’m just gonna say, I’m not a parent so... :poot:

What if the child was assigned female at birth but realized they're trans and transitioned to a man when they grow up?

Very unlikely to happen. Population of trans people in the world is quite low actually

Calm down lol - I knew someone would say this.

I'm not saying that she should tell her kid that they are a 'boy' or 'girl' and that it will never change. But she should still raise the child calling it by the gender associated with its sex, but obviously make it very clear to the child that they can change their gender if they feel like they need to. Don't tell me i'm being transphobic, you clearly didn't understand what I was trying to say at all. What I meant to say is that raising her baby as 'they' is absolutely ridicolous. If her baby chooses to identify as 'they' in the future, that is for them to decide and that is fine. How would you feel if someone tried to tell you that you were something you maybe were not?

Think a little bit before you bring up how upset you are. I am sorry if I offended you but please understand that wasn't what I meant.

Your telling me not to get upset then apologize?  There’s nothing funny about it all, make it to 25 first

“How would you feel if someone tried to tell you that you were something you maybe thought you were not “

Umm ok? You just contradicted yourself - exactly stop putting gender constraints on this child or anyone

I did explain earlier - I didn't mean gender. I was talking about raising the child in accordance with their SEX, not their gender.

And why should she do that exactly? What's the point of it?

Again, why is that ridiculous? And who are you to decide what is "fine" and what isn't for her own child?

Exactly, now reverse that. What if the child was assigned female at birth but realized they're trans and transitioned to a man when they grow up? Wouldn't that be telling them they're something they're not? If she decides to raise the child as non-binary (which I didn't even hear her say, i don't know where you got that from, but I hope it's not the same place you got that Influenza joke from and thought it's real), she's literally telling them that you are not assigned to any specific gender and that you get to decide to be whoever you want to be. I don't see why that's so sad and requires you to feel bad for the child.

Ahhh... thank you so much for this. It’s always a breath of fresh air when I see intelligence and care on this site.

I have friends raising their kids this way and they are perfectly happy. :sara:

( I’m always interested to see where these strange conservative views on GGD come from, usually someone in USA)

Again read the message I just sent to you - I was talking about raising a child in accordance with their SEX, I agree you shouldn't force a gender on someone.

Don't you ever, EVER, call me conservative. EVER. You completely misunderstood my point

Getting back on topic, ahem: I wonder if Elon is going to live-tweet the birth and have another Twitter meltdown.

My advice is to get some friends with children or work in the childhood sector like I do where people are raising many children non binary.  Also, I don’t know where you are from? Maybe you are from a very backward conservative southern town and don’t have access to to being in a thriving modern community .

Well don’t you ever comment on someone’s progressive choice about raising a child when you don’t even have one
