The classic, In The Zone says hi

Also Britney Jean could have been her best if it was actually recorded by her and was perfected, but we all know how that turned out.

Can we just talk about the fact that thinking Blackout is her best album is FAR from unpopular :sharon:

I said it once and I'll say it again.. Britney would have been what Beyonce is today if her breakdown didn't happen. :tony:

I don't remember those days :lolly:  the only things I remember about 2008-12 is Lady Gaga's rise to fame, Katy Perry's rise to fame and Kesha's few hits :lolly:  never heard of Femme Fatale if I'm honest

Maybe only in the US? I don't think I've actually heard any of those songs :selena:  I do remember Womaniser being played on radio... I was 10 in 2008... like, I was young! I wasn't super fascinated by pop music - only the ones that stood out like Gaga and Katy. I feel like Britney was global until like 2003, then had one hit (Womaniser) and wasn't seen again until Scream & Shout

Well you're kind of right.  Britney's 2007 VMA is really what gave rise to Post-Single Ladies Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry Taylor Swift etc...

This forced MTV/Jive Records performance is what led the industry/media to look for her replacements; and they obviously all collectively supplanted her by 2010 after her brief comeback in 2008-2009 (but still worthy of praise to comeback after all her struggles)

As I've said, her real downfall was 2004-2005, not 2006-2008.  She should have either started her own label or re-signed a contract with Jive that gave her thoroughly expanded control over her image/sound/music.

Glory is her best album.

I Wanna Go is better than Hold It Against Me

Piece of Me is her best song.

Everything could be everything (it could mean anything)
